Superbowl commercials

Post by vanitybinge »

See anything you love yet? I was a little disturbed by the army of Ugly Americans with no pants...
In the paper, seems a florist
Found in Lincoln Park, died of some anemia
No one raped her, poor Doloris,
Just detained her and drained her on the spot

Justin (formerly of Tattooed Millionaires) is in the BudLight commercial. I'll have to take a look at it online.

I liked the Betty White one. The dog collar one was funny too. One the whole I was not too impressed by the commercials this year. I would also love to see the revenue breakout for CBS because I do not remember any Super Bowl in recent history that had as many network promos as this one did.

That was the same Letterman/Oprah commercial they ran a few years ago...they just put Leno in digitally.

There's no way they got those two in the same room together.

I thought it was weird that Jay Leno would be on a commercial hyping The Late Show...his direct competition once he goes back to Tonight.

My favorite commercial was the little boy smacking the dude and telling him to "Keep your hands off my Mom, and keep your hands off my Doritos"...

Did anybody notice how many of the goddamn commercials this year featured people slapping each other? Lots of that shit. I thought all the "slap happy"ones sucked and that doritos one with the black kid was kind of creepy...I didn't think it was funny.

Best one of the night was probably Betty White/Abe Vigoda.

Now I have to say i didn't see all of them cause in the 2nd half we'd switch over to some "Puppy Bowl" animal planet footage to keep the chicks happy.

Also...what did Leno say in that ad? I couldn't hear it as the hens were clucking...

The e-trade baby commercials were good. Never much liked them before but they nailed these ones.

Turns out I was wrong about that...in fact Leno DID come to town last week to film this ad. Wow!

In a RS interview last fall, Dave made it clear that (after his heart attack) he wanted to renew his friendship with Jay. That said, I clearly don't think he is happy with what Jay/NBC did to Conan, but, Dave wanted the funniest commercial possible to promote his show during the Super Bowl.

Overall yeah. I dug the Betty White one, I thought KISS w/ mini KISS was great! I also thought the Letterman was classic. Nothing will ever top the High Life campaign last year.....

I'd never rate a Super Bowl for the commercials or the half time show. They just add to it. I'm glad that the NFL has went to RnR Hall of Famers over teeny bop crap for half time. If one or two commercials are good, that's a bonus. It's about the game. I'm glad the days of the NFC just coming in and blowing out every team the AFC put out there are long gone, and that's a good thing.

How did that NOT turn into an old man boxing match? They must've been paid REAL fucking good.

I stated in another post (I'm a Dave fan, have been for years) he went out of his way in an RS int. in fall of '08 to bury the hatchet with NBC and Leno. I think his heart attack was a real eye opener for him.
