What point totals are your rounds worth and do you do upset points? The reason I ask is that I run a pool (for entertainment purposes only, of course) and I'm struggling with the point totals for each round. The way the pool is set up, you would get bonus points based on the seed. For example, if you pick a 10 seed to beat a 7 seed in the 1st round, you would get 1 point for picking the first round correct, and you would get an additional 10 points for picking the 10 seed to win.
I want to make sure that people do not get an insane amount of points for picking upsets in the early round and then have things wrapped up before the Final Four. They should get rewarded for picking upsets, but not to the extent that they don't need to pick the majority of the Final Four correct.
For those that run an NCAA pool
