I was also pissed when Saban started the year with no defined starter at QB. He made the offense have to try and play to 2 different gameplans in the game, with no clear defined leader, and as such, they struggled. Now that Coker has been named, the Tide is playing better, on all 3 sides of the ball.

I dont think the Tide will make the playoff this year unless they run out the remaining games, and thats gonna be tough considering LSU, Texs A&M and Auburn are all still to come. On top of that, they still have to hope Ole Miss falls apart in order to get into the SEC Championship, to likely play Georgia again.
Been gone for a few weeks...and in that time, Alabama has dispatched Texas A&M, Tennessee and now LSU....and are currently ranked #4 in the Playoff Rankings. Bama will likely move up to #3 after keeping Leonard Fournette to just 31 yards on 19 carries, his lowest totals to date. Roll Tide Roll.

No. 6 Michigan State falls 39-38 to Nebraska in last seconds! That has to sting the Spartans.

One day after making a post about Nebraska losing their entire season on last second scores to shitty teams no less they pull one out vs #6 Michigan State during the last seconds the game........At least I can be happy for one week.

http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootbal ... MICHST@NEB

Tommy Armstrong drove Nebraska 91 yards in the final minute, hitting Brandon Reilly with a 30-yard touchdown pass that withstood a video review with 17 seconds left to hand the sixth-ranked Spartans a devastating 39-38 loss on Saturday night.

Starting at his own 9, Armstrong hit Jordan Westerkamp for passes of 28 and 33 yards. Two plays later, he threw the winner to Reilly, who had gone out of bounds and come back in to make the catch. Officials ruled it was legal because cornerback Jermaine Edmondson forced him out.

''Controversial play at the end,'' Spartans coach Mark Dantonio said. ''They should have never been down there in the first place.''

Armstrong, who missed last week's embarrassing loss at Purdue because of a foot injury, rallied the Cornhuskers (4-6, 2-4 Big Ten) from 12 points down in the last 4 1/2 minutes for the largest fourth-quarter comeback in program history.

Spartans should have won the game but because of a "dumb" rule, the Ref's can review the play but are not allowed to overturn the call. WTF!
What happened to getting the call correct? The cameras might as well be removed from the field because they are not used properly.
Clearly the WR was not forced out of bounds. The DB was playing the game and did not force the WR out.
No excuse for the call. No excuse for the replay rule that helps nobody.

The correct call was made, both on the field and in the review booth.

Oh well... FSU hung in there until the last few minutes, which was a pleasant surprise... But we just didn't have the experience on the roster for a hero to step up and change the game. Kinda hoping we pound the ever-loving crap out of NC State and Florida, finishing in the top 10 during a rebuilding year would exceed all expectations.

The latest CFP rankings were released. How does Bama, a 1 loss team, get in the top 4? No 1 loss team should be in the top 6. Which means Bama should be on the outside looking in.
Bama lost a home game to an unranked team. Does that count for anything or does the committee give them a pass because they are Bama?

Their single loss is to Ole Miss by 6. If they lose a game to either Mississippi State or Auburn they will finish OUTSIDE the top 4. Same with a loss to one loss Florida in the SEC Championship game.

The team that "doesn't belong" in the current top 4 is Notre Lame, not Bama.
Stanford will dispatch those pretenders on November 28.

Stanford is a solid team. Both sides of the ball. I never imagined McCaffrey would be such a force. Is he really in the Heisman talk?

Listen, Bama has 1 loss. IMO, that 1 loss equates to not belonging in the top 4 CFP. I don't care if that loss was by 6 points or 16 or 60. They lost the game. How can they be ranked higher than multiple undefeated teams?
Total scam. Farce!

They're ranked higher than some undefeated teams because they're flat out better than the undefeated teams they're above. It's pretty simple. Like you.

Bullshit. If they run the table and win the SEC they deserve to get in, but they sure as shit aren't #2 right now.

As much as it pains me to say it, Notre Dame has a tougher schedule.

And if Baylor/Okie State and Ohio State go undefeated with their back-loaded schedules, they will jump Bama.

The rankings reflect where the teams stand right now. Alabama deserves to be there. The Big 12 is a freaking joke. Defense is a dirty word in that conference. I have no problem with the current top 4.

The Big 12 defenses are pretty lame - but Oklahoma's is statistically solid, so we'll see how they do against Baylor this week. They have an outside shot of squeaking in.

And if the rankings are fluid, and truly reflective of "right now", Bama should be penalized next week for playing a freaking FCS school (Charleston Southern) before their rivalry game with Auburn.

The Cowpokes are a better team than Oklahoma (and still undefeated), so good luck with that infinitesimal possibility. Wins over Baylor and the Sooners will only solidify the prospects for a Top 4 position (for OSU).

NO ONE LOSS BIG 12 team will make the Top 4. Period.

Someone forgot to remind Iowa State that they suck.

Heading into the 4th: ISU 31 OSU 21

Now OSU 35 ISU 31 with 3:06 to go in the 4th.

A Buckeyes fan complaining about Bama playing a weak team? That's really cute considering that Ohio State hasn't played a single ranked team the entire season. And didn't you guys almost lose to a couple of shitty teams including Indiana, who are now 4-5?

Stanford's hope of a potential final Top 4 playoff spot went bye-bye tonight, as did Baylor's.

The Bedlam Series (Oklahoma-Oklahoma State) should have a lot riding on it, for the Cowboys, if they can get past Baylor this upcoming week.

Fuck all the haters...The Tide lost to Ole Miss when Ole Miss was still ranked...like a ton of other teams, early in the season. Bama lost by 6, at home, due to 5 turn-overs...that resulted in points for the Rebels... :?

To the voters of the CFP, thats not a killing blow when you consider how well the Tide has risen from that defeat, and dispatched other quality teams. They dismantled Georgia and shut down Nick Chubb, the pre-season Heisman fav, beat Arkansas who has now went on a 4 game winning streak, tore Texas A&M another new ass, took LSU and held Leonard Fournette to 31 yards, you know, the other Heisman fav running back and toppled the #2 Tigers out of the Top 4. And now here we are this week, Bama still having to prove they are where they deserve to be...so they sack Dak Prescott, holder of a ton of SEC QB awards and on the 2015 Heisman List for now, so many times, I`m surprised he didnt just fucking quit taking the snaps...no TD allowed. These wins against these teams are quality wins that far outshine the 1 solitary loss that shouldnt be attributed to Ole Miss`s play as much as Bama`s inability to knock fuck-up that game.

Now, you go and look at those few remaining un-beatens you are lamenting...#4 Baylor got beat today by #12 Oklahoma..Baylor has zero Quality Wins. #5 Oklahoma State just barely escaped Iowa State to remain unbeaten...so who are Oklahoma States Quality Wins....TCU...thats it, one single good win, do you really think they will win out over Baylor and the Sooners...not likely.

Let the season get to Rival Weekend, then you can get more bent out of shape. What should happen is SEC Champ, Big 10 Champ, Pac 12 Champ and ACC Champ will be in the Playoff...Big 12 will get fucked again because their Commissioner is a complete idiot for not doing a Conference Championship game...

The Pac-12 won't be represented. Both Stanford and Utah have 2 losses after tonight. So that opens up the door for Oklahoma State, if they win out.

Yep, youre right...forgot Stanford had a 2nd loss. I would rather see OK State in instead of Baylor..but, things still can go sideways....

OU went to Baylor and they smacked around the freshman QB and scored a HUGE win on the road. OU came to play. It seemed OU wanted this win a lot more than Baylor.
Mayfield certainly played himself into the Heisman conversation. He is a threat with the arm, with his legs and the fire he shows on the field is refreshing to see.
Next up is at home vs TCU. Another difficult game against a great team in the Big 12. Not sure how many of you here are following OU, but there defense is playing at a high level. Other than that 1st drive when Baylor ran right through them with zero resistance, the OU defense adjusted & made the plays.
Unclear to me how high in the ranking they will now go but this team is now in the conversation, despite having the 1 loss

**want to add Baylor D had the most bushleague play I have seen in college football. a Baylor defender instructed another player to fall down on the ground, pretend to be injured, prior to OU snapping the ball on offense. the ref's all missed the action but of course the cameras caught the incident. that type of play needs to be taken out of the game. i know the ref's cannot see all, but if TV replay catches the act, someone needs to send word down to officials and the offending team should be penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct, 15 yards.

And two players said they will not return next year. What a bunch of selfish
players there. So wrong when any player states he won't be returning for the next season before the current season has ended.
Plus, Jones is not ready for the NFL. Who is he kidding? Would serve him right to not get drafted and have to get a job in the real word. Let's hope he listens to the coaches & family who should urge him to return for another year.

Quality wins. Better conference. To just look at records is not getting the whole picture.
Clemson beat number 6 and number 16 both at home. Alabama beat number 20, 15, 8, 9, 2, and 17. Three wins over ranked teams on the road. Their loss was to number 15 by less than a touchdown. Besides their win over Mississippi State, they've beaten all the other ranked teams they've played by at least two touchdowns. I also think head to head on a neutral field that Bama has the better and deeper team. I hope the finals are Bama and Clemson because I think it would be a hell of a game.

For the most part I tend to agree with your stance. At the same time I just feel that a national power like Bama did suffer 1 loss and that 1 loss should move them down a few spots.
I can't justify having them ranked so high with 1 loss. They are merely there based on past accomplishments and nothing else.
Even if they lost by less than a TD, that was a home game. Which should count a little more than just losing a game on the road.
