Time for a new thread with the community shield happening today. Plus the championship and lower divisions have already started their seasons.

Man Utd win the community shield! Woohoo! Ibrahimovic scored the winner. Wherever he goes, he wins!

Fellaini had an awful backpass which led to the Leicester equaliser from Vardy.

NUFC and Villa started their seasons with a bang and found their spots on the table immediately :D

The championship isn't easy. In some ways it is a better league due to the teams being more similar in quality.

Good feeling about this season, for a change.

2 wins and 2 victories. Still very early days, but we look a lot better. Except Rooney who still looks gash.

I like the Friday night game idea!

Zlatan Ibrahimović cannot stop scoring wherever he goes! Glad I put him in my fantasy team and made him captain. Also glad he took penalty responsibility!

Much better than last season. Zlatan is the man.

Chelsea jammy again! Costa should have been sent off, but ends up staying on and scoring the winner!

That Liverpool loss should hopefully shut their fans up. There was already talk that they were going to win the league from some of their fans. Idiots.

Great game today, improved a lot with Rooney on the bench.

Yeah that was the right call. He just doesn't deserve to be in the starting 11! Not surprised we were so much better.

That was a very important win for us.

Worst performance since the Moyes season today. United this season are looking as clueless at times as Jose's Chelsea did last season. Maybe he has really lost his touch.

The Magpies on top of the championship. Time to get cocky and celebrate too early.

I don't like Chelsea or anything, but it's always lovely to see Mourinho and Ibrahimovic fail. Mkhiratyan's career is going as everybody here expected. Schweinsteiger might have the last laugh in this mess.

Schweinsteiger would surely be a better choice that Fellaini. Hell, he is probably a better choice thet Paul "most expensive player in the world' Pogba. Knew it was crazy money. Early days I know, but being the most expensive player in the world should meaning coming to a team and being great straight away. He looks like a passenger most games.

Man Utd just can't seem to win in the EPL! :x

Chelsea have been great since they changed to a back three.

Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool all look like they can win it this year. Tottenham might have missed their chance last year!

Mourinho parading Schweinsteiger around for a few seconds to get a better price this winter?

Most likely. Looks like another rubbish season. No matter who's in charge.

The amount of money they have spunked on players, whilst still looking mediocre is impressive!

Improvement has been huge since the last post on this thread. Mkhitaryan has been excellent in that time and was great when he came on today. 4 league wins in a row. I thought Ibra was poor today but still had 2 assists and a goal. Nice to see Moyes get owned.

World Cup being expanded to 48 teams? Bullshit idea really, but good for New Zealand potentially.

ummm wrong! spurs have a TON of young talent locked up and one of the best young coches out there...they are set to challenge for the next 5 years.

its a tall order for anyone to catch chelsea this year...but i wouldnt put it past tottenham to pull it off.

You know what? I like that idea. All the stars have been bitching about it forever, but really what's the harm? Fucking everybody lost their shit when a team like Iceland won a few games and did their stupid celebratory stunt and it became a pop culture hit all over. Italy-Argentina-Germany-Brazil semis just make me cry nowadays. This cup needs all the fresh blood it can get. If the superstars break their legs because of too many games for their poor bones and some African team finally pulls some surprise win, all the better.

Liverpool was the only team I could have seen challenging them lately, but then you get these off games where you just don't know what the fuck. Fucking Chelsea is too far ahead. And I see Arsenal ahead of Tottenham for sure, not only this season.

Imo, their best chance was last year. They do have a lot of talent, but it was an off year for the big clubs last year. They all seem back on track more or less, which will make it harder for Tottenham to win the title.

Not too surprising. Won't get relegated, but they will never sniff the title again.

Might depend on how they structure it.

If they just add more teams to the current format, then it will mean more dead rubber games that will be worthless to watch. I had read of 1 idea where they would have a knock out round between the small teams first. So one game and you go home potentially? Would it really be worth these lesser nations to show up if thats the case?
