What a circus, they should put that fairy cartoon mascot on a ball in a tent surrounded by clowns and give them the trophy already. The media overkill is annoyingly painful but it's great watching all the bandwagon fans come out of the woodwork and tank around like a rainbow Blitzkrieg. Every game they jump up and down like bipolar fanatics on a pogo stick, a couple loses it's OMFG a sinking ship then during a winning streak it's Miller time.

In the MLB thread I stated last year they'd choke "The NLCS SWEEP WAS BEAUTIFUL AND SO CUBISH" but win it this year, still sticking by it. The odds are in favor, they've bought all the pieces over the last couple seasons so I can't see how they can lose.

The clip of that KID tossing back the HR ball and his blockhead father AT COORS FIELD is a prime example of the Idiocracy. Coors Field has a good fan base and draws a fair visitor crowed but in that clip I've never seen THAT many VISITORS in the bleachers before and I've been to dozens of CUBS games at Coors Field, where the fuck were they during the last 20 years let alone tossing the ball back at an away game, morons like that makes one hope they choke. I've shared a few words and got looks for wearing an LAD hat but in that clip it looked like Wrigley fucking Field, normally they'd got dumped with beer and soda for pulling that shit. I don't know if you're talking to machowder or me but the HR Race was completely different.....Maybe in Chicago it was but it's nothing like this Bandwagon. That was a straight player race in which most people seemed to be rooting for Big Mac. There was a ton of Sosa shirts but most I knew hated Corkey or rooted for both if they liked him...I was in Denver went to Cleveland then back to Utah that season and would hit the sports bars almost nightly just to watch the race and had a lot of fun.
In the end it was a juiced up joke we laughed about at the end of the season, I boycotted Baseball after the strike then after the HR season drew us back I remember a bunch of us laughing in disgust when reality kicked in. Then Bonds came along and things got really ugly...Either way it had nothing to do with the team and all to do with the HR race.

What it did have was an impact on bringing fans back to the game after the strike, it made a few Sosa fans but nothing to do with making people CUBS fans....It didn't take long for Corkey to ruin his image not to mention PED's came the light. That HR Race was a One Hit Wonder where most look back as a turning point.

It was a player race, this is a stacked ringer team favored to win the WS bandwagon.
