After about 30 seconds, the penny will drop for Conor that he is out of his depth. But, as long as he gets a cheque, he probably doesn't care.

Exactly.
Mayweather would have to have one leg in a cast for McGregor to catch him, let alone hit him. There will be a lot of hype for the fight, but I'd guess it will end up being incredibly boring to watch.
