Extreme Justice 7/10 Lou Diamond Phillips
True story about the S.I.S., the same org that is now 'lauded' by sycophantic retards watching CSI and thinking these 'specially trained officers' are upstanding enforcers of justice and not a bunch of murdering scum.

Silent Night, Deadly Night II 5/10 It's that bad it's good.
I rented the first Silent Night Deadly Night when it first came out.

Me and a bunch of my friends then went to see the sequel at the movies. There was only like one of the five of us that didn't see the original, which was kinda funny, because they basically played THE ENTIRE FIRST MOVIE back in flashback, followed by the shooting spree.

It was pretty lame.

I like how in the second one the guy - who I'm pretty sure was Rick from Last American Virgin - described the night his parents got killed in the first film, and how he remembers it being a dark and cold night - when he wasn't even a year old sitting in a car seat. I call bullshit!!!

And yes, I do approve of the tactic of telling kids Santa punishes bad kids.

Arbitrage: ZZZ stars out of 10 stars
I rented this the other day and it literally bored me to sleep about 20 mins in.
It also really didn't grab enough of my interest in those 20 mins to feel compelled to watch the rest of it. So I'm not going to rate it.
The last 5-6 movies I've rented have been really bad.

On the cable front:

Larry Crowne : 4 stars out of 10 stars
It was mildly watchable but for the cast they had it was pretty mediocre and dull. It wasn't bad in an offensive way, it just seemed boring and contrived. And for anyone to call Julia Roberts character a great teacher, after watching how she was depicted in the film, it made for a pretty unintentional funny moment.

This is 40 - 6/10
A good amount of funny moments, but way too "down" for a comedy.
Paul Rudd was very good, though.
A proud Steve Jones nutswinger since 1977.

They didn't have enough money to create a new story hence the overuse of flashbacks.

Silent Night, Deadly Night is one of the best slasher movies of the 80's.

Remember the scene when this guy tries raping his girlfriend, and the Santa Claus guy backs up over him repeatedly in the jeep killing him. Then he gets out and the girlfriend is like: "....Thank you!"
That was pure Penthouse Forum fiction - I'm surprised the two didn't jam after, or something.

Finally a rental that didn't completely suck, but wasn't totally overwhelming either.

Saw Hobbit last night.

I really don't know what to make of it. I thought the 3D did absolutely nothing for me. I hate wearing the glasses and it just didn't add anything to me. Avatar is the only movie I've enjoyed in 3D.

I didn't really know the story going in. A teacher read the story to my class in grade 2, so it's been a damn long time since I heard about the plot.

I'll give it a 6.5/10. Not bad, not stunning either. Not even close to the LOTR movies

The Sandpiper (1965) - 7/10. Elizabeth Taylor was hot in it, and Charles Bronson a bitch.

Stranger Than Fiction (2006) - 6/10. With all the hype I expected it to be a little less trivial and predictable. Fucking Maggie Swedishname was actually the best.

The Amazing Spiderman 8.5/10

Andrew Garfield's Spiderman felt a lot closer to the comics than Tobey's did. It was a fun movie, can't wait for the sequel.

Cowboys and Aliens 3/5 It was fun like an Indiana Jones but not as corny

Congo 2/5. This movie makes no fucking sense and it's nothing like the book.

Chronicles 2012 4/5 That was cool, but minus one for the lack of character development

It's a little over the top, but I love Ewan McGregor so much, I can't give it anything lower.

Let Me In Pretty damned good horror/drama/coming-of-age piece. Loved the way it started. Then I thought "this thing is going to become to much of a self indulged indie/foreign artsy piece that it is gonna suck" but it came back around and was actually a good film. I wouldn't say great but good. 7/10

Skateland -3.5/5 coming of age flick tht takes place in 1983. Pleasantly surprised with attention to detail, it really looks like 1983. Theres even a recreated Musicland. The skating venue scenes totally capture the time, felt like I had been there.Captures it better than Adventureland. Decent watch, turns a dark turn midway.

Independent film you can find on Netflix.
