The Lorax (2012) 3/5. Good movie and I love Danny DeVito, but the original cartoon was much better. Funny thing, Taylor Swift voices the main girl but she's the only main cast member who doesn't sing.

I really enjoyed the Flash Gordon parts in the movie.
i love flash gordon. i'm suprised how many of my friends had never heard of that movie. i had a friend burn it for me because i only have it on VHS. when i went to watch it my husband made fun of me and called me a nerd. then my brother one upped me and told me he had the special edition. I DIDNT EVEN KNOW THERE WAS ONE!!! I WANT IT!!!

I took my son to see this and on the way to the theater we got on the subject of chessy 80s (70s?) movies he should watch.

We talked for about 20 minutes about Flash Gordon.

Blew us away when we were watching the flick and all that stuff came up. Kinda weird.

Broken Flowers - 8/10. I'm starting to like Bill Murray's serious movies a lot more than his comedies.

That was the movie that got me back into Bill. Great flick.

The Master 6/10

Great exhibit of acting. Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman are, well, masterful. The movie as a whole however felt like a lifetime. Not my favorite Paul Thomas Anderson film, that's for sure.

Mama: 6.5 out of 10

This was a decent enough horror movie, although the ending wasn't that great of a payoff for me.

Had it's slow moments but was surprisingly good. Worth the watch. The Sharon Stone scene was a cracker with a bonus beaver.

After reading all the stuff on Cabin in the Woods, I decided to watch it. I was about 10 minutes into it when I realized I had actually seen it before.
:|

That movie was a rip off of Evil Dead meets The Running Man.
They stole almost the entire Evil Dead storyline for the first part of the flick.. everything from the cellar door flying open, the teens finding stuff from former tenants and a latin phrase that wakes the dead, a torn up bridge so they can't leave, a character you think is dead comes back just long enough to give information... and even the phrases Ancients and eternal slumber.
*sigh*

The Border (1982) starring Jack Nicholson and Harvey Keitel. 7/10. Underrated Nicholson movie.

Escape from Sobibor (1987) starring Rutger Hauer and Alan Arkin. 7.5 out of 10. Had some pretty crazy concentration camp scenes, but an inspiring story overall.

On the cable front...

Goon: 5.5/10
Average hockey bio/comedy pic. I thought Liev Schreiber was great in this and actually looked the part (much like David Keith in the suckfest known as Major League II). On the negative side Jay Baruchel's character is really, really annoying.

American Reunion: 5/10
Pretty lame sequel. Sean William Scott kinda saves it from totally sucking.
Him and Ali Corbin are the only things worth watching here.

Movie 43 8/10
for Throat balls scene alone (Hugh Jackman/Cate Blanchet)

http://www.buzzfeed.com/chicosamone/hug ... -balls-972

I just got back from seeing this.
It's not gonna win any awards, but if you like crude, infantile, perverted, gross humor then you will enjoy this.
Not really even a movie per se, but a buncha clips put together.
