Exactly. I'm going to watch it again just for the laughs. :P

That was Peter Saarsgard. He's always good.

How was Franco as Heffner?
Creepily accurate I'd guess. He wasn't onscreen much, but the small time he was, he came across very lech-like.

Bolero - pros : Bo Derek nude and very hot. Cons : awful movie otherwise.

Pretty sure one sex scene with Bo is actually the real deal. Cant prove it but it sure does look as much real possible without being XXX.

The Counselor: 2/10
Wrapped up a vacation week by going to see a matinee on Friday.
I originally wanted to see the Tom Hanks Captain movie but I missed it by 25 minutes. The next showing was 90 minutes later. And since I was going to see Buckcherry and Sammy Hagar later that night, I couldn't really stick around for that. So I went to the 1:30 showing of The Counselor.
Didn't know much about the movie heading in, but knew it had a killer cast so I figured it should be a pretty decent alternative.

Boy was I wrong.
This movie was long, drawn out, overbearing and just plain dull.
I had a feeling it was gonna suck five minutes in (which is never a good sign), but stuck it out figuring it just had to get better. It never did.
I was kinda shocked because it had a great cast, but simply no script.
It was like being behind the wheel of a high performance sports car, with absolutely no place to go.
And the movie ends up drowning in its own self-importance.

I started nodding off one point (last time I did that was when I saw the hunk of shit known as Skyline) before taking a piss break during the alleged climax of the film. I came back, sat down and abruptly fell back to sleep again - this movie is better that Nyquil.

Out of frustration, I walked into the middle of a showing of Bad Grampa.
I watched about five minutes of it during the male strip club scene, before I left.

Les chansons d'amour ("Love Songs" 2007) - 2/10. Total shit sandwich about a love triangle of total douche bags who break into songs all the time for no good reason; and they're songs that fucking suck. I don't know why I'm surprised watching a movie with the gayest title imaginable.

8 femmes ("8 Women" 2002) - 5/10. Another frog musical, with some great actresses (Isabelle Hupert) and hot bitch galore (Catherine Deneuve, Virginie Ledoyen, Emanuelle Béart...). Story sucks, though, and so do most songs.

Bad Grandpa. Genius. It's not about doing stunts to yourself or the other Jackass cast. It's all about the reactions of the people around you.

No spoiler alerts here but.. When he walks into ladies night at the Ghetto club , you will piss yourself.

Tried watching Cloud Atlas last night. I had to turn on the dap tigons just to understand what the fuck they were saying.
Jesus, it's like everyone in the movie had a shitty accent or a mouthful of marbles.

Captain Phillips: 7/10
Great movie, solid entertainment and most importantly it kinda helped kill some of bad aftertaste The Counselor left me with a couple days earlier.
I wish I just saw this on instead.

Side Effects. started out slow, but about 45 or 50 minutes in started throwing you one twist and curve after another. definitely give it 7/12 out of 10

Ditto. My ribs had that slightly pleasant laugh-induced ache for a while after leaving the theater.

The Wolverine - 6/10. Takes us back to Logan in WWII, and ends with a set-up for the new X-Men film next year. Not the strongest film in the franchise, but I'm happy they're still making them. Jackman is starting to look older though, so they need to plan on wrapping it up soon.

Man of Steel - 4/10. Whatever I had rated it before, I figured I was too harsh so I should watch again. It's just as bad as I thought it was. Had such promise, some great visuals, and an interesting story idea. Sadly, it made enough that they're going to run with it and do a second (the Batman vs Superman thing).

ER - 9/10. Yes, the TV show. Spend about 3 weeks watching all 15 seasons. Pretty impressive cast over the years. Good story lines. Got a little shady with the Africa trips, and too into the personal lives of the later-year characters. Still, it kept my interest until the end, and I wanted more. Rocket Romano rules.

The Changeling (1980) - George C. Scott moves into a haunted house in Seattle. Not a bad movie by any stretch of the imagination, but very much a product of it's time.

Just awful, in a perfect for a lazy day off way. Some excellent makeups on the zombies, too.

Catfish-
7/10
Despite having a general idea how the movie ends, I still had a fun time watching. The film was written and edited very well for a documentary.
The current MTV show based on the film is 10 times better than this movie.

The Hitcher (remake). 8/10 Nothing can top the original, but this one managed to change the story just enough to keep me interested and very surprised in some parts. Good film and one of the very few remakes I can actually recommend.

Land of the Dead: 6/10
Zombies that learn is a stupid idea.

Thirteen Ghosts: 6/10
I'm no fan of ghost movies, but this one is cute and the ghosts are cooler than in those stupid Ring movies.

A Nightmare on Elm Street
(remake): 4/10
This just started but I already hate it. They ruined Freddy.

"All is Lost" - 9/10

This will go down as two of Robert Redford's finest hours, and he's had plenty of great ones. See it.

Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter: 6/10
I don't find Jason nearly as interesting as Michael Myers, but I still get a kick out of these movies, mostly in a nostalgia-inducing way.

And I'm sure I broke my personal record yesterday for number of films watched in one day. When I said I was doing nothing all day, I meant it. It was good.

I felt this was the last best film consecutively of the series and then the quality went down a bunch.

I enjoyed this one a lot. Plenty of nudity, good kills, Crispin Glover and Teddy and his computer.
