Labor Day - 9/10. Josh Brolin is an escaped convict who takes Kate Winslet and her son hostage in their home. According to my roommate, she suffers from 'Helsinki Syndrome', but that's not it. Well shot, well acted. You will want peach pie.

The Wolf of Wall Street - Probably one of the best movies I've seen in a while. Other than all the awkward sex, loved everything about it. DeCaprio is awesome. 9/10
Dallas Buyers Club - Again, other than all the awkward sex scenes, this movie was so damn good. I love Jared Leto ... he was insane good as a trans. 8/10

Count Yorga, Vampire (1970) - I first saw this on a typical Chiller Theater Friday night flick when I was just a kid in the late 70's and at that point I probably would have rated it high. What I figured out is that it was high for me based on the potential nudity factor. There were teases aplenty. As an adult who still enjoys the random boob shot, it was more frustrating than enjoyable. 4/10. Set pieces and the guy who play the Count were pretty cool to look at.

Zombie Lake - could have been called Beavers of Zombie Lake with all the muff that made it in this French/Italian army zombie movie. Not surprising it was written by Jess Franco.

There's a scene in that where you can actually see the tube pumping the blood up to the victim's neck.

Dr. No. - 7/10.
From Russia With Love - 6/10.
I can see why they spoofed the James Bond movies. They're very predictable and kind of boring.

I gave it a 2.5 out of 5
It had some good kill scenes but the stupid decisions by the characters kind of ruined it for me.

4/10 - lame villain, lame special effects, too long, too much highschool drama
Nothing amazing about it.

Does the Green Goblin ever wear a mask? Not sure that would be a spoiler for anyone but comic geeks like me, but just in case...put spoiler alert in there if you respond.GroupiesInBoots wrote:Amazing Spider-Man II

Zero Charisma 8.5/10. Really good indie movie about a bunch of outcast nerds playing fantasy board games.
When I grew up I had a lot of friends who were like the guys portrayed in the movie. What was the big difference is that they were 14 - 15 years old, while these guys are probably 34 - 35. It's like a documentary of users on Metal Sludge, but with dungeons and dragons and shit like that

Zombi 3 - so far this is the least impressive of my Italian zombie movie run. Not enough gore, not enough (any) nudity. 3/10

I didn't see it on Lifetime when it was on, but Redbox now has the new version of "Flowers In The Attic". It was a little different than the original, but from what I've heard it was closer to the books.
6/10 Decent renter
Has anyone else watched it?

Whenever I think Marjoe Gortner, three things come to mind.
#1.His award worthy role as Jessie "the Junkie" in Viva Knievel.
#2. The way he turned lion tamer in an late 80s version of Circus of the Stars.
#3. The scene in Earthquake when he blatantly peeps in on Victoria Principal undressing in her home.
He does it in broad dalight, kinda hunched over with his hands on his knees and a big ass grin on his face.
Marjoe Rules!

The Raid 2.
9/10. Seriously one of the best action movies I have seen. The fight scenes were incredible and very brutal.

Stripped To Kill - late 80's thriller. Undercover hottie cop (Kay Lenz) works at a titty bar owned by the gay hating landlord from Threes Company. Starring as the male lead, from the tv show, the monkey Bears partner BJ. Too dark and looks way low budget, but still very watchable. Lots of babes with big boobs and 80's hair. Bonus sighting : cum lord Peter North as the dj that gets shot. 6/10

Joe (2014) Starring Nicholas Cage and no one else I'd ever heard of..
6/10
It has a sort of Sling Blade feel, but without the memorable dialog.
I think too much of the storyline ended up on the cutting room floor. Disjointed and no flow or explanation for too many things.

I watched that Thursday night. It was a lot better than I had thought it would be. I get what your saying about the flow but for what it was I'd give it maybe a slightly higher score.....maybe a 7/10. Great acting all around.Caustic Queen wrote:Joe (2014) Starring Nicholas Cage and no one else I'd ever heard of..

"Captain America: The Winter Solider" - 9/10
This was amazing. Very expansive storyline. It's well made on all levels.
"The Grand Budapest Hotel" - 9/10
Another Wes Anderson classic. The man has hit his stride over the last few movies.
"Draft Day" - 7/10
A very enjoyable movie. Ivan Reitman doesn't generally do drama, but he really got the feel of this one down. It has a strong ensemble and the ticking clock storyline is pretty suspenseful.
