Idea was great but the acting sucked.

Star Trek Beyond. 6.5/10. I couldn't help but feel let down by this installment. First, the gay scene with Sulu and his partner was so forced and unnecessary to the story. Also, the directing was just not up to par. No meaningful storyline and practically no banter between Kirk and Spock. It wasn't terrible, but it was far from great. I also get the feeling Karl Urban fought to be in every scene possible, as to remind us that he is a big shot actor and shouldn't have to play second fiddle to Kirk or Spock.

He killed it as Judge Dredd.

Mockingjay Part 2 - 4.

The weakest of the four films. It shouldn't have been four films in the first place. But considering what a money maker it was, I guess it was inevitable they would milk it dry.

Jaws - 9

A classic of course. Always bugged me when the woman blamed Brody instead of the Mayor and Businessmen who were the ones who actually wanted the beach open.

Popstar - 7.

StarTrek Beyond - As someone noted, no real plot line. Karl Urban was awesome. Saw it in IMAX 3D which was stunning. Great cast, but I only see them getting 2 more out of this incarnation of the franchise. Didn't touch Into Darkness in any way. Fun watch though. 6/10

The Resurrection of Jake The Snake - Couldn't be happier for the guy but the film was meh. 5/10

Only Lovers Left Alive- 2013- 7/10
Good plot, good acting, nice absence of special effects; plus it had Gary Oldman in it.
Apparently vampires lack hygiene and sport some seriously matted hair.

I don't remember Gary Oldman being in it.

Brody should have passed the slap on to the mayor. :)

You may be right, Mojo. One site said it was Gary Oldman and another John Hurt. OMG if that is John Hurt he totally turned into wrinkly Gary Oldman.

Suicide squad
6/10

Really wanted to like this more. Tried too hard to copy guardians of the galaxy with the soundtrack... Unfortunately they picked 1) too many songs, 2) overplayed/tired songs. In gotg the songs were great and added to the viewing experience.

Harley and deadshot were good, joker and enchantress didn't like. The rest were just there. Btw there is an after credit scene.

Wired (1989)- 2/10- This is the biopic about John Belushi. It's just as fucking terrible as reviewed. The Bob Woodward book it's based on is excellent. This piece of shit has bad acting, amateurish directing by a TV hack who never shot a movie on film before, and awful reenactments of SNL sketches and film roles. It's not available on DVD or Blu-Ray, probably because whoever owns the rights wouldn't make any money off releasing it. They spent $13 million ($25 million adjusted for inflation) on this piece of shit and it looks and sounds like a student film. Michael Chiklis may be considered a decent actor today, but he's awful in this.

After 30 years I just realized that "Animal Mother" from Full Metal Jacket also played the bully on My Bodyguard with Matt Dillon. I'd seen both movies numerous times through the years and never made the connection. Kind of like Jake Ryan (16 Candles) and Kuch (Vision Quest), which incidentally also starred Matthew Modine. I'd make a lousy cop.

Suicide Squad. Yeah, there's problems but it's not as awful as some reviews would have you believe. 6, maybe 6.5.
