YYC wrote:Funny Games (2007) 2/10--What a pretentious piece of shit. It could ave been a really good thriller/horror flick OR a quirky and snide indictment of said movies. It failed on both counts. Naomi Watts ran around in her underwear for half the movie, which is why it got a 2 out of 10.
No shit! What was that rewind bullshit going on? Fucking lame!

Crazy Heart 6/10

Good music and fun seeing Jeff Bridges in a bowling alley again, but it was slow as fuck and a story we've seen a million times before.

O Brother, Where Art Thou - 9/10. I can't believe it took me so long to watch this movie, it's excellent. Clooney and Turturro are awesome.

Full Metal Jacket - 9/10. The best war movie ever made.

Sherlock Holmes:It was a pretty entertaining movie, I'd give it 7/10.
Credit where it's due, Robert Downey Jr is a fucking good actor... Jude Law, not so much.

Deadline U.S.A.
Bogart 1954?

Not a very good movie. Could have been a lot better.
The double-plots were easy to follow, but boring stories.
The "mafia leader" was a horrible character and a bad actor.
He didn't scare me one bit or was threatening.

This was Bogart's follow-up film to 'African Queen'. Not sure
why he took this role

Crazy Heart - not terrible, not that great. It came with a great recommendation, so it's hard not to be disappointed by it.

the lovley bones- damn this movie had promise but I just can't reccomend it based on the terrible cheesy as fuck ending.

Up in the air- decent flick, slow at times, I can't for the life of me understand all the praise being heaped on it.

GRACE- 7 out of 10
My thoughts: It's a decent and creepy (un)dead baby flick.

Synopsis: Madeline Matheson is eight months pregnant and determined to deliver her unborn child, Grace, naturally. When an accident leaves Grace dead inside her, Madeline insists on carrying the baby’s corpse to term. Weeks later, when Madeline delivers, the baby miraculously returns to life… With an appetite.

Right on, with both movies. And The Lovely Bones just really wasn't good at all.

War, Inc.

Pretty funny, light hearted movie with somewhat of a message. And who knew you could turn Hillary Duff into a hot, slutty middle eastern pop singer?

7/10 would have been an 8 but it fell a little short about 2/3 in, but saved itself.

Dude Where's My Car? 0/10

Seriously this movie was fucking awful. I had never seen it before. Decided to watch it the other night and even though I didn't pay I still want my money back. I wasn't expecting much, based on the title, but I was hoping for more than what I got.

I never thought Master Of Disguise would have ever been knocked off the throne of shit-tastic films but this one sure as hell made Carvey's performance look like Schindler's List by comparison.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: "The Squeakquel"

It was OK I guess, I thought the first one was better
but the princess loved it so that's all that matters.

Moby Dick - 10/10

I love this movie. Gregory Peck at his best portraying Captain Ahab who I think is one of the baddest mofo's in the world of literature. Now, what I like about this movie is that it excluded the homoeroticism that is in the first parts of the book. Also, Orson Welles delivers one of the best monologues I've ever heard while he was preaching as Father Maple. Overall, the movie is great because it didn't include some of the useless parts of the book that strayed from the story. A real classic.
