Law Abiding Citizen - 7/10

A bit slow in some parts but overall a pretty good story.

State of Grace - 8/10

One of my favorite (favourite?) Gary Oldman roles. Great actor.

Crazy Heart - 8/10

Could have been a trite tale, but the acting was outstanding, the music was good and there were little grace notes that elevated the movie from being just a "Tender Mercies" rehash.

The Red Shoes--7/10 Creepy little Korean horror movie. Replace the video cassette with a pair of red pumps, and it's basically Ringu.

Complete disagreeance. I thought the guy going through the game having to choose who to save was pretty well written, not to mention the fact that the guy had a direct link to Jigsaw.

Everybody's Fine - 4/10 - Mild drama/comedy snooze fest with no cream filling. You'd think with full cast including De Niro, Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale and Sam Rockwell it might be worth a watch. It's not.

I'm normally not a fan of retarded comedy, but how can you not like that flick better?

Young Frankenstein!
Every actor was such a perfect character, from Gene Wilder, Igor(who looked just like my best friend in college), the Police captain with the robot arm to Gene Hackman and Peter Boyle's candlelight dinner, I just about pissed myself in that scene!

Young Frankenstein goes to Eleven!
In the paper, seems a florist
Found in Lincoln Park, died of some anemia
No one raped her, poor Doloris,
Just detained her and drained her on the spot

Across The Hall - 4/10 - It's supposed to be a noir thriller but it's not very thrilling, not annoyingly bad but nothing special. Brittany Murphy is the only thing this movie has to offer because every scene without her left me wanting to change the channel.

Yep. Plus the movie is all like "fuck insurance companies". Not to mention Hoffman is turning into a bad-ass. Two severed thumbs up!

Be Here to Love Me
You're Gonna Miss Me

8/10 for each. I'm kinda obsessed with the 13th Floor Elevators right now because of You're Gonna Miss Me. Never heard of them til I saw that movie.

American Hardcore

6/10. Booooorrrrriiiiiinnnnnngggggg.

The Future is Unwritten

7/10. I don't really like The Clash, but some of what Strummer was preaching at the end of his life is sort of inspiring even to a lazy piece of shit like me.

I put off watching that movie for a while cause it's so long, and I wasn't a huge Strummer fan. But I was surprised. I really liked it.

Sort of Red Dawn by way of 28 Days Later, and far more entertaining than the lead-assed, slow as fuck, horribly acted original.

Timothy Olyphant is awesome in the film...that dude deserves to be a way bigger star than he is.
Danielle Panabaker was on G4 the other day promoting the Crazies, if she can act as good as she looks consider me a fan.

We'll maybe I was too harsh, it's better than IV & V, which I watched two weeks ago, I guess I just didn't like the two main characters very much. Actually I didn't really care for any of the characters, it's funny how the Series makes you emphasize with Jigsaw and eventually, you feel like all the people that are getting put in the traps/games, actually deserve it, which is kind of twisted, but maybe that is the point.

Zombieland - 6/10. Very funny, but not as good as Sean of the Dead. I would have given this a higher rating until the point were the two guys in the movie meet up with the two girls, then it just goes a bit lame for the most part, other than the some funny scenes with Bill Murray. The Zombies look great though, very good make up and special effects, they also run like in 28 Days Later.

The Hurt Locker - 8.5/10. I saw this last night, and it is very good. I think it's the best Iraq war related film that I've seen. The first hour is so tense. Great lighting and cinematography. This could even be 9/10.

Kind of a Saw ripoff. It was pretty good.

Sigaw (The Echo) - 8/10

I watched the original Filipino version, not the crappy American remake. It borrows some elements from The Grudge and other Asian films but also add some sleek Filipino infused myth into it. Pretty good. Great scares and all. A pretty good movie that I'd recommend to all of you horror fans.

Percy Jackson & The Olympians- The Lightning Thief

8/10

Way better than I expected...Good acting, ok plot, cool effects...It didn't drag at all...It of course exploits every cliche' in Greek Mythology but does it with surprising grace...Worth the price of admission...

This one is up there as one of my favorites of the series. Very glad they got the director back again for part VII, even though the producers used some pretty dirty tactics.

But anyways...

Where the Wild Things Are:

First off, I wanted to beat that kid to death. Other than that... the voice over actors for the creatures did a very good job, especially James Gandolfini.
