Saw both Cemetery Junction yesterday and Date Night.
Cenetery Junction was better than I thought it'd be. I give it 7/10.
Date night...I was there with 2 other people and when we went in, there was only 2 other people watching the film. They were in their 70's. And they left about 45mins in to it. A few funny moments, but nothing special, 5/10.

The Government does it all the time and the public goes for it. Whats the big deal if a film maker does it? I was referring to his edit job in 9/11 as the "truth be blurred" part but as a whole I think his film showed we are being duped. The same people that are the villians now we were kissing ass with not to long ago.

Because if the Government is doing it, why should he need to twist facts around to fit his agenda? Shouldn't the truth be self-evident and stand on its own? He's a lying bag of wind who is more interested in self promotion than actually affecting change.

I was just trying to keep the thread on topic.
I like MM movies. I dislike the way my govt. has decieved us. A filmaker decieving us in one thing but the powers that are supposed to protect us straight up lying about shit is another.

All Dogs Go To Heaven - I just watched this today with my niece. It's even better with her commentary. 10/10 this time.

I need to get that film! That was one of my favourite films when I was younger-I'd watch it every chance I got. I can still remember parts of it- especially the trippy looking bits when he's in heaven.
Have you ever seen the film 'Balto'? From what I can remember, it's about a dog that also has a girl owner, but she gets really ill and, for whatever reason (probably to get medicine for her or something) he has to go on this long-assed journey through the snow, while she deterioates. If your niece likes All Dogs Go To Heaven then she may like that film too.
I actually dated a guy who, I later found out, did the majority of the animation for that film, he even showed me some of the sketches he'd done for it-I was fucking psyched!!

Y Tu Mama Tambien - 7/10

Starts out great, a soft-porn kind of hormone enraged road-trip movie. The end part kind of sucks.

The Glory Stompers - 1/10 sober, 7.5/10 high

This is one of those shitty movies that is so bad you and your friends can sit and make jokes about it. I guess they spent all their budget on Dennis Hopper, because he's the onlly guy close to being able to act in this one, and he's baked out his fucking gourd the whole movie. It's about these rival biker gangs, and one of the dude's girlfriends gets stolen by the rival gang, chaos ensues, etc. etc. I would be a bit surprised if this movie never got MST3K or Rifftrax treatment. Still watch it, though. It's got a great theme song.

Yeah. The first half kind of had a Beavis and Butthead kind of vibe, but then turned out to be a gay festival of melodramatic shit.

Wasn't it at the beginning where they're both jerking off next to each other on diving boards? It's not like the movie all of a sudden got gay out of nowhere.

The Straight Story - 9/10

I could not, at first believe that David Lynch could manage to make an emotionally stabbing movie. I kind of expected some weird shit, ala Eraserhead, but this rules. Probably the most emotional on the road movie ever, and may even be the best. Farnsworth creates a very likable character, and his face can even act! I kind of like the way Lynch made it slow, but at times, it is really really slow.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. But the gay went over board near the end of the movie.

HOT TUB TIME MACHINE - 6.5/10: Some good laughs, loved the Motley Crue clip over the end credits.

THE DEVIUL AND DANIEL JOHNSTON - 8/10: riveting documentary, not sure if I'm totally sold on the supposed genius of its subject, though.

Gangs of New York - 8/10. Don't really see this one mentioned when talking about Scorsese, it's a great film. Daniel Day Lewis is awesome as Bill the Butcher, he's one of the only people that can make a bastard character likable. And Marty Scorsese is the only director alive that can make a good movie with Cameron Diaz in it.

Only redeeming quality of this shitty film.

The Shape of Things: 7/10. Really good, and lesser known, Rachel Weisz film. Takes a look at how far someone will go to change themselves (physically, emotionally etc) for someone they are in love with. Pretty good "twist" at the end.
