The actress doing Maria, did a fuckin' great job. Great acting, great story.
that is an incredible movie! i ran across it on IFC one day while flipping channels.

the last movie i watch was some 80's piece of shit called Superstition, also on IFC. is there a negative scale? if so, it gets a -4 out of 10. seriously ridiculous, cheesy movie.

I loved this movie. It was totally hilarious and I wasn't expecting the Gene Simmons cameo. My husband picked it from Netflix and I had never even heard of it. I loved the characters. Thought all the actors totally nailed their roles. Great.

Local Chicago tv is showing Brian's Song tonight. I will record it and watch it after the family goes to bed so my wife doesn't see me weeping openly.

INCEPTION - 8/10

Lots going on in this movie, somewhat hard to follow, but very entertaining and visually striking. I definitely got the gist of it but I'd like to see it again another time or two to really let it sink in.

The Last Exorcism - 6.5 out of 10

I thought the movie told a pretty cool story and had great characters. The kid who played the brother of the possesed girl is definitely going to get somewhere. However, the movie had so much build up and never really followed through with the scares. I will say you really do not see the ending coming, but I still am trying to figure out if thats a good or bad thing, cause it is just so over the top.
Also, let me add to my review that I am usually a sucker for the "found footage" movie. I love em and think they add a whole new element to horror films...however...this time it just wasnt enough. I personally believe if youre going to make that type of movie, go all the way with it. Instead they chose to put a score behind it, and that just seems absurd.

"I Spit on Your Grave" - I know it's trash, I know it's not particularly well made, but I love the shit out of this movie and never get sick of it. I felt I had to watch it again before the remake ruins that awesome 70's-ness of it. 8/10

"A Place in the Sun" - Tragic, as the source material promises. I don't know why I haven't seen this one before, considering my dedication to La Liz. 9.5/10

"The Expendables" - This movie was a blast, and I think all that manliness got me pregnant. Let's hope it's Sly's. 8/10 (on a special scale)

Youth In Revolt - Mike Cera needs to play a different character. He's been the same guy in everything he's done.

Crazy Heart - 6/10 - Kind of mediocre. Jeff Bridges deserved the oscar. Colin Farrell look unbelievably stupid singing country songs.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - 4.7/10. I was with my sister's family on vacation last week, and her kids watched it about 7 times. It's not very good and it doesn't get better the more you watch it.

Miami Vice:

Now, I usually enjoy MOST of the stuff that Michael Mann puts out... but this was horrible. Just seemed like a bunch of random crap throw together with the Miami Vice name slapped on it.

Fuckin' cool Korean western. It hooks you up to the start and grabs hold of your fingers until the end. Excellent.

Overnight - 9/10. This was recommended to me by two separate people, and both were spot on. I've never seen The Boondock Saints, so I was hesitant to watch this, but reassured that I'd like it fine and I did. I think I cringed nearly every time Duffy opened his mouth to say something.

There's no need to see Boondock Saints. Ever. It's exactly the movie you'd expect a douche like Duffy to make.

I thought The Boondock Saints was great. I have been meaning to watch the sequel, even though it will probably be a disappointment.

Evil Dead wrote:Piranha 3D - 3/5, this would be a -1 out of 5 if it wasn't for one of the goriest, most gruesome scenes I've ever seen in a movie. Very graphic but the entire first half of the movie is mainly just drunken idiots partying. The piranha attack sequence completely makes up for it though.
Describe the scene please :D

I honestly have no urge. I'd heard a little about it and none of it interested me at all. I still can't get over what a gigantic douche Duffy was.

Goes to show you, one man's trash is another man's treasure. District 9 gets a 11/10 from me. I love everything about it, it's the only movie in the past decade I will watch over and over again.

Maybe if I wasn't expecting serious sci-fi I would've liked it better. You gotta admit that the movie has alot parody elements.

If you haven't yet, check out "Shadow Of the Vampire", that ties in very nicely with Murnau's film.
