The Cellar Door 5/10 purely average "held captive in a cage in the basement" flick. didn't hate it, didn't love it until the last 5 minutes.

I have no idea why people pay attention to or even swear by Rotten Tomato's ratings ... just seems they give stuff poor ratings for publicity... maybe just most critics aren't movie fans to start with...

Honestly, I find the critic reviews aren't very helpful. The audience ratings are usually much closer to the truth.

In the case of The Change-Up, notice that the critics gave it 20%, but the audience says 60%.

Lincoln Lawyer - 7/10 McCougnehy(sp?) can be awesome when he wants to be, and Phillipee is awesome at being a snobbish sociopath. Josh Lucas is once again terribly underused.

Megamind - 7/10 The only thing I didn't like really was that I find that even Jonah Hill's fat fucking voice is annoying.

Jackass 3D - 3/10 Its getting old, they're getting old. Laughed more at their apprehension at doing the stupid stunts than the actual stupid stunts.

Due Date - 6/10. All over the place comedy with Robert Downey Jr. and unpronounceable Greek bearded guy.

The Good Life - 7/10. Depressing movie about some hairless guy falling for Zooey Deschanel who thinks she's Judy Garland.

The Other Guys - 8/10. That recent Wahlberg/Ferrell cop flick. I think it's hilarious.

Cedar Rapids - 2011 - 7/10. If not for Anne Heche looking great it would have been a 6 but eye candy is always worth at least one extra point.

Crazy Stupid Love - 8/10 -Enjoyable and hits some sore spots about married life.

Just One of The Guys - 5/10 - Meh, ok for nostalgia. Always dodged it even in youth.

Spring Break (1983) - 8/10 because of nostalgia. I wish we lived in these simpler times again. Spring Break lookes awesome back then!

Moving Violations (1985) 2/10 - I remeber this being funny 25 years ago. Movie sucks balls. Jennifer Tilly is hot and Murrays brother is a horrendous actor.

Winnie the Pooh. 10/10 Pooh fans don't ask for much, but this movie managed to provide all of the goodies we love about Pooh and more. If you're a fan, don't miss it. :D

And I saw something called Spiderhole. 5/10 Was a torture flick. Just not into that stuff anymore.

I watched Zebrahead (1992) again the other night. 8.5/10. It is about that white guy (Michael Rappaport) who dates a black chick. It is really underrated, I think it has held up pretty well. Oliver Stone is the Executive Producer.

Yes, I did. Yay me.

But then I watched High Noon, so that might cancel out my seeing a new movie.

The Image (1973) - 7/10

Its always fun to find real porn on Netflix. This is a Radley Metzger flick and this dude likes his kink. The story is...who cares. Its a dominatrix, her hot chick she punishes and the dude she punishes the hot chick for.

In this one, you've got actual pissing while being watched, actual being pissed on, fruit up the snatch, sex, masochism with whips/chains/needles and blowjobs. All shot on a big (for the time) budget. And on film.

This director was smart - he obvioulsy liked bush (it was '73) but he was smart enough to get them to do a lot of landscaping so as not to hide the drapes.

Rent it, you could do worse.

Straw Dogs - 1971

I dunno. I can see why it caused an uproar upon it's release. Maybe I'm just jaded, but it's violence didn't shock me.

And the ending blew, IMO.

6/10

With great initial hesitation due to the Tim Burton farce...

Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes

Glad I chose to go. Pretty great. 8.5
Left me frothing at the mouth for the follow-up.

Fucking awesome movie. I did cry at the montage of their life together and at a couple of other parts. But then again, all Pixar movies are the shit !!

I took my youngest to see this, and thought about the situation with my wife during the movie. Believe it or not, it opened my eyes to how short life is, and that the adventure with my wife was coming to an end, and I needed to create a new one for myself. Pretty deep from a Pixar Movie, huh?
I remember at that time thinking my favorite movie of that year was pretty much a toss-up between either Inglorious Bastards or District 9, then I saw up, and though it blew both of them away.

Man on Fire - 7

I remember watching this a few years ago and really enjoying it and although I remembered it was an assassin revenge film I couldn't really remember any particular scene. I'd even forgotten it has that weird looking kid Dakota Fanning in it!

On repeated viewing its a solid film. Denzel Washington is excellent as he is pretty much all the time. I sometimes think the Punisher films could have taken a hint from this film.

Changing Lanes (2002) starring Ben Affleck and Samuel L Jackson. 7/10. I thought the whole lawyer angle was interesting and kind of similar to Lincoln Lawyer.
