Au Pair Girls (1973) - story 2/10. Viewability of early 70's bush on better- than-average looking British and French chicks in 1973 - 9/10. Netflix.

The Avengers (in IMAX and 3D): 7.5/10
I really liked it. Much better than Iron Man II (which I thought had way too many characters for its own good - much like Spiderman 3) - and Thor (which I thought didn't have much of a story).
My biggest fear was what happened in Spiderman 3 - when they crammed in as many characters as possible making it seem bogged down, but this did a great job of balancing everything and everyone out.
The 3D seemed like a non-factor in all this, but seeing it Imax was cool.
If you see it, stick around for BOTH scenes this time after the two sets of credits. The very last scene is pretty cool.

The Avengers (2012) - 1st 1:30 min I'd give about a 6/10. Last 30min would rate an 8.5/10. Whoever on here said The Hulk is what made this flick work was right.

Cons :

Caps costume. Looked like what movie makers would want a costume to not look like...overly comic. It might have been outdated, but what he wore in the first movie worked much better on the big screen visually. This suit didn't look that much different than the low budget 1990 movie.

Hawkeye : needed a mask.

Bruce Banner : the guy that played Bruce was the least interesting of the three from the movies.

story - took a while to get somewhere.

Pros : everything about the Hulk. Good cgi. Everything about the battle near the end.

My idiot brother - 5. Not a coherent storyline. The sisters were poorly cast. And Paul Rudd was slightly naive and very trustworthy but his idiot level was on par with most of the cast.

Battle Royale - 9

Shoot 'em Up - 6.5-7/10 Really funny action film starring Clive Owen, Paul Giamatti, and Monicca Belucci. Seeing that cast I bought the DVD for $2 and was pleasantly surprised by the balls to the wall but tongue in cheek action, with minimal dialogue that covers all bases for a film that comes as close to a shoot 'em up video game without being completely lame like Doom with Dwayne Johnson.

The Avengers - 7.5/10 Really enjoyed this film, and would actually buy it on Blueray to watch again when it gets released. Some of the characters could of been better, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow to be specific. Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Loki were perfect renditions from the comics which I haven't read since the late 80s.

The Dark Knight - 9/10 Watched this again in a friend's home cinema, still awesome, and I am looking forward to the next one.

Super 8 - 6/10 Great special effects, didn't really care for any of the characters.

The "sucker punch" from Hulk to Thor was fucking brilliant!

Although my opinion differs from yours - I think Loki stole the show ;)

That scene and the Hulk/Loki scene really had the whole cinema laughing when I saw it.

'Marley'
Our cinema had only one showing of this, so I made a special effort to get my ass down there to watch it. Was really hoping for good things from this, but....it wasn't all I thought it'd be. It's a documentary. I thought (assumed) there was going to be quite a bit of live footage along with interviews with Bob. That was in there, but, there wasn't really enough of it.
There was quite a lot about the political divide in Jamaica-too much, really, considering its a music documentary.
I think this documentary found the only known photograph of Bobs dad, and showed it for the first time-that was cool. Anyways, I give it 6/10. Needed more music.

'The Cabin In The Woods'
Lots of fun to watch - the main cool bits being the [without giving anything away] different death options. Cool movie, may see it again - 7.5/10

Meet Bill (2007) - 9.5/10. Great, great little film with Aaron Eckhardt. Sort of a "coming of age" movie for 40 year olds, but with a quirky plot a little like American Beauty but lighter and funnier. He's forced to mentor a high-school kid who sort of gets him in trouble but also sort of helps him find his niche and the kid adds a lot of fun to the movie.

The original TV movie version was made in the 70s and is pretty great (for when and for the format it was made) This remake is just plain sad. Thankfully there was no kid in it. Way to fuck up another classic Hollywood.

Very fun flick. Thor was the only movie involving any of these characters that I saw before the Avengers, but it really didn't matter.

Coffin Rock 8/10

Yet another Fatal Attraction type stalker movie but enough weirdness to keep it interesting. Based in a small town in Australia.
