Moonrise Kingdom (July 4th, 2012) first movie I've seen in a theater in 7 years. It was fucking awful. Boring, Stark and lifeless. The end was ok, but the rest was horseshit. People were walking out 30 min into the movie, and there was hardly anyone left at the end. I've never seen that happen before.

Gremlins-its a movie about some chinese dude that has this little animal thing that can't get wet or can't eat snacks after like 12:15am
so this one white dude buys this animal with a Howie Mandell voice and gives it to his son who hangs out with the dude from The Lost Boys who gets the animal drenched in water and out pops these other animals but far far meaner than the original animal...well chaos ensue's and these new mean animals totally take over the town and need to be killed..later on Pheobe Cates comes out of the swimming pool topless while the cop from Beverly Hills Cop is masturbating

i give it 9 out 10

The Help - 7/10
Historical account of black maids in the early 1960's. I'm sure the Hispanic maids of today can tell similar stories.
Bastard out of Carolina - 8/10
(Seriously f'd up rape familial rape scenes, even for 1996.)

The Verdict (Paul Newman) - 7/10

Stark melodrama about a down on his luck lawyer who lucks into the biggest case of his life. Supposed to be highly thought of, but I found it to be predictable and ham-fisted. Newman doe eyes and pouts his way through it, and the ending was never in doubt. I'll place up there with The Deer Hunter as 70's/80's "classics" I didn't quite get into.
It's hard for me to get used to these changing times. I can remember when the air was clean and sex was dirty.

Goon: 4/5

I really liked this movie. I also liked the fact that Sean William Scott FINALLY played a different type of character for a change. He wasn't his usual Stiffler self... he just played a regular, calm guy that wasn't good at anything but fighting. Liev Shreiber was pretty awesome in this too. Pretty killer hockey fight between the two as well.

Terminator 3- 7/10

Car chase near the beginning was great, a huge mess. Otherwise not as good as the first two.

The Occupant - 6/10

A little confusing, but has an inventive suicide scene.

Savages(2012) starring John Travolta, Benicio Del Toro, and Selma Hayek.

5 out of 10. Great premise, but very disappointing movie. Oliver Stone directed it and has really lost his touch as-of-late. The whole thing was a scattered mess and none of the characters were all that likable. A very Hollywood version of the whole cartel situation. Also there is a stupid fake-out ending which was retarded.

Agreed with everything you said. The Russian teammates were hilarious, and the guy from Sons of Anarchy was good as the coach, too. Fucking hilarious reference to "Rudy," as well. Solid, funny movie.

Ted

8/10

HILARIOUS!

The vulgar language was an added bonus. Happy the screenwriter decided to take this movie to an adult level, and not write a movie for children.
The plot might sound lame on paper, but the writing was the star.
Did not hurt that Sam Jones had a few scenes and there were plenty of references to
Flash Gordon

That was actually very well done. I watched not long after watching Winter's Bone. It was a good combo!!!

The Trotsky - 5/10: Boring-ass teen flick that had nothing to do with Trotsky.

Bloodworth - 7/10: Pretty good hillbilly drama. Hilary Duff was hot in it.

The Grand - 8/10: Largely improvised, absurd comedy. Woody Harrelson and Werner Herzog alone make this one awesome.

Before Ted, there must have been 6 previews(fucking movie studios and their promos).
The only preview worth remembering was Campaign. Has potential to be a laugh out loud
comedy from beginning to end.

Rango 9/10

Hey, I like westerns, and besides being animated, it really is a good western with a "follow the water" storyline reminiscient of great movies like Once Upon a Time in the West.

Plenty of in-jokes for western fans too and great nod to Fear and Loathing as well.

Anger Management

Sandler sucked.
Nicholoson was great.

Same shit, few laughs here and there til it was over. God! Sandlers acting is THE WORST!
