Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Free HBO this weekend. Saw the documentary American Winter about people knocking on the homeless door in Portland. Question if RBO reads this. EVERY single person about to lose their home or already did were MORBIDLY obese. Is that common there?
He's like the Liberace of bass & pot.

Imitation Of Life - 7/10.
Lana Turner was good, but I wanted to strangle the two girls. Long, boring in parts and the daughters are insufferable little cunts.

Awesome movie. They just killed off the guy who played Buliwyf on Vikings. That pissed me off.SanityClause wrote:13th Warrior 10/10 Love that movie.

Awful. MAYBE 3/10.
It is awful. Disjointed and abrupt. No flow, no sequence... just a jumble of scenes thrown together.
I get the feeling this was just a way for a screenwriter to show support to the "Free Phil Spector" movement.

GI Joe Redemption. They killed off all the Joes from the first movie, except Snake Eyes. Good action, cool gadgets. 7/10.

Zombie Pickles from Space 2/10
I know this is going to come as a terrible shock to most of you, but I just don't see an Oscar in this flick's future..
12 minutes of the worst sock puppet pickle acting ever.

Admissions 7/10.
Pretty predictable.
I like Paul Rudd and Tina Fey so that was a plus.
It was decent comedy/love story with a twist or two.

Argo - I can't believe those crazy people chased after a 737 in their vehicles in real life! Hands down, the best part of the film. 10/10.

Beginners (2010) - 7/10. Ewan McGregor's dad dies, and in flashbacks is shown coming out as a big old disgusting fag (I mean literally; he's like this tall-ass geriatric sodomite). That causes some drama and shit, and then there's more drama, involving son's love interest Mélanie Laurent, which is really the least annoying kind of drama, as Mélanie Laurent is fucking awesome. She might just be the best frog alive today. It's understood that if everybody was like her, France would be heaven on earth. That's kind of the moral of this movie, I think. It's rather artsy and probably open to interpretation, so it's hard to say, but that's what I took away from it, at least. There's also side-boob.

Just watched it today.
After all the bad things I heard about it I thought it would suck. It was actually pretty good.

"Evil Dead" (remake) - 6/10
Solid flick, gets really amped up and nasty in the last 20 minutes or so. None of the cast matches the charisma of Bruce Campbell, but then again it's more of a somber, troubled vibe as opposed to the weekend of fun angle that led the characters to the cabin in the original. The director, Fede Alvarez, used mostly practical effects and utilizes some of Raimi's original visual flourishes and shots. It's not a classic, but it's not a pointless remake either.
Stay for the tag after the credits.

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Saw Jane Levy doing the talk show circuit (she seems like such a sweetie) and she mentioned NO CGI. She was literally buried alive, and the puking effects involved tubes being shoved down her throat. I'll probably catch it as soon as it becomes a Tuesday special or cheap matinee.TenBenny wrote:"Evil Dead" (remake) - 6/10
