The Babadook - 8/10. This was creepy flick that was mostly psychological, but also had elements of the Ring and the Conjuring. First good creepy movie I've seen in a while.
fuck off, kid. I have ticket stubs older than you.

Took the boy to see Avengers: Age of Ultron last night, and left underwhelmed.

I loved the first one, thought it was a solid 8 or 9... the new one, giving it a 6 would be generous.

Transformers - Age Of Extinction. 4/10

I've watched this movie 4 times. Each time I kept hoping I missed or slept through something that would give it some redemption.

Nope. The story sucks. The acting is sub-par. You would think bringing Mark Wahlberg on board would create a character worth giving a shit about. Not even slightly.

Giving the transformers human-like faces is more creepy than cool.

Way too long and way too slow paced.

Bay needs to give up on this franchise.

The Gambler remake with Mark Wahlberg

7/10. Much more enjoyable than I thought it would be. A more updated and funnier version of the original and I liked that it was a little different and not a scene-for-scene reinactment. A little unbelievable in parts but still enjoyable. Can't believe it got trashed so bad in reviews. Brie Larson is pretty hot too.

Blue Velvet - I'm not sure how to rate it cause I don't know what the fuck I just watched. It was entertaining in a weird way. Dennis must've been out of his mind. But i can say that this ugly cry face...

Les enfants du paradis / Children of Paradise (1945) - 7/10. I've seen this called the best movie of all time a lot, so from that angle it was kinda disappointing. Otherwise not bad. I'm probably missing some profound analogy.

Why! I mean I can understand giving a film a couple of views. But 4 times to confirm it is bad!

Lost River - 2/10. Almost didn't watch it when I found out it was the brainchild of Ryan Gosling, but I like Iain DeCaestecker and Christina Hendricks, and you know, Matt Smith was Dr. Who. Just horrible though - it sort of had the IDEA of a plot, but that was buried beneath agonizingly slow pacing and artsy cinematography/fantasy sequences where Gosling tried to imitate film makers he's worked with before. Couldn't finish it. I read the audience actually booed it at Cannes.

Watchable. Better then they other ones, which isn't saying much. but sub par acting.....Did you watch the others staring Shia LaBeouf and two with Megan Fox? It's about robots that transform, you looking for Oscar's?

It's a Michael Bay film, there's more explosions they script.

Wow. I thought he was all Mad Dog Morgan in it. Good for him, cause his role in BV was off the chart.

Maggie - Arnold's straight to DVD drama about a father who tries to protect his daughter from quarantine while she is slowly turning into a zombie.

7/10 - Definitely a much more serious take on the current zombie theme craze......not an action movie at all.....surprised this didn't get a theatrical release.

Avengers Age of Ultron 8/10 I originally rated this a 5. Must have been some bad hormones kicking because I liked it a lot better the second time.

Birdman-6/10.
It's a weird movie. Not sure I fully understood it. Keaton and Norton seemed to be playing fictionalized versions of themselves.

BLACK SEA

In the lexicon of submarine movies, this one is pretty solid. Some predictable parts but also a few surprises tossed into the formula. Jude Law sheds his happy go lucky British schtick.

The Lazarus Effect - 3out of 10
Disappointed.
Has a promising beginning, promising storyline/concept.. but falls to pieces. It's like they ran out of money to shoot the last half of the movie, so they shot shoddy, 1/2 light, shadowy, barely there scenes.
