Pawn Shop Chronicles (2013) - 7/10:
Deliberate "cult" movie with interconnected plot lines, starring Matt Dillon and Brendan Fraser. It's pretty contrived and makes little sense, but I like it.
Nuoren Wertherin jäljillä (2013) - 6/10:
Finnish drama about a father retracing his estranged son's steps to suicide, in some sort of allegory on Goethe's Sorrows of Young Werther. Iina Kuustonen is a boobhooker extraordinaire.
High Society / Le beau monde (2014) - 3/10:
French shit sandwich. Ana Girardot is hot in it.

Snowden. Good, a bit too simplified but still 8/10 and a movie I would watch again.

How much screen time does Timothy O have? Would like to watch but if he just has a cameo will pass...

"Snowden" - 7/10
Better than critics have said. Like a government hacking procedural anchored by really good performances across the board, especially Gordon-Levitt's.
"Bridget Jones's Baby" - 8/10
A great movie. Much better than the second one and closer in tone and spirit to the first one. Zellweger, Firth, Dempsey and really almost the entire cast is are great in this. It could have been so ridiculous but the filmmakers made this something very thoughtful and mature.

Elvis and Nixon - 7.5/10. Still not sure why they chose Michael Shannon to play Elvis, but he was fine from an acting standpoint. Sure as Hell doesn't look like Elvis. I thought Spacey's Nixon was great. Overall, the movie was fun and looked great.

"Daddy's Home" was the family movie night selection at my house this weekend. Wahlberg and Ferrell. I thought it was going to be lame but it had some great laughs.
This dude needs to be in more shit. He stole the movie.

In those type of comedies, the supporting characters always steal the show. His side character in Monkeybone is also dry and hilarious.

Captain America: Civil War. 5/10
More like Captain America: Civil Bore. Turned it off after about an hour. Felt like I was just watching another Avengers movie instead of Captain America. Another needless cash grab. Fuck you, Marvel.

You're right. I may have rated it too high. I just scrolled down the IMDB user movie reviews and they pretty much all gave it between a 1 and 3 out of 10.Chip Z'Hoy wrote:5/10Trist805 wrote:Captain America: Civil War. 5/10

The 33 - 8/10 Based on the 33 Chilean miners who were trapped some 700 meters down a shaft. Haven't seen Lou Diamond Phillips in anything over the years. It was nice seeing him act again. What pisses me off the most about the film, was to read that the mining company was found not guilty in court. And, those poor miners were never compensated for having to spend 60+ days underground.

A small town judge (Robert Duvall) finds himself on trial for vehicular homicide. His Chicago hotshot defense attorney son (Robert Downey Jr.) ends up as his lawyer. Having a tumultuous past, defending him won't be easy.

The Host (2006) - 6/10:
Pretty cool as far as creature flicks go. It drags as fuck, though, and I'm not sure I'm getting any alleged symbolism. Conservation? Imperialism? It's probably about rape or something. They all are.
Duel (1971) - 7/10:
Early Spielberg movie about some square business dude being hunted by a fuel truck across the desert. Good shit.
The California Kid (1974) - 6/10:
Martin Sheen is a greaser whose brother died in an accident caused by an evil sheriff. It's basically Footloose with Hotrods.

This. Hate to jump on the bashing, but this movie was such a huge fucking disappointment. Especially when compared to The Winter Soldier, which is a masterpiece, imo.Trist805 wrote:You're right. The best thing about Winter Soldier is that it was a simple story of basic good and evil. Civil War was a confusing clusterfuck and made me hate Steve Rogers. Ugh.

I completely agree. I wasn't impressed at all, and I totally get being pissed at Cap. They just tried to shove everything and the kitchen sink into that movie and it's just a big, loud, uncnessecary mess.TravisBicklesMohawk wrote: This. Captain America: Civil War agree it was a muddied Avengers film. I think I had more issues with Spidey having a hot Aunt May. It was ok. 6/10
