The Irishman - 6/10 - It's OK, but I doubt I'll ever watch it again. Doesn't hold a candle to Goodfellas or Casino.

Once Upon A Time...In Hollywood - 7/10 - DiCaprio and Pitt carry a heavy load acting-wise. The casting of the Manson girls is awful, and what a waste of Damon Herriman. The Tate stuff was boring as fuck, but Margot Robbie was the perfect choice to play such a vapid character. I loved the ending. Overall it's pretty good for a movie with fuck-all plot.

The Aftermath (2019) Keira Knightley Alexander Skarsgård . Movie took place just after WW2 and is about a British officer and wife moving into a german mansion and kicking the family out.
Keira gave a great performance, looked amazing, her body double showed ass and titties and the sex scenes were pretty steamy 7.5/10

Framing John DeLorean (2019) It is now very hard for me to enjoy the work of Alec Baldwin but this movie/documentary was pretty interesting i only knew the car from back to the future and i had no clue about the supermodel, cocaine, trial, fraud, irish plant….. kind of sad to see his son who used to live in mansions/park avenue now living in a real shithole 7/10

Slut In a Good Way (2018) Movie is about a teen girl who has sex with every single male employee at the store she works at, then gets slut shamed and rallies all the girls to go abstinent, it sounded great but the sex scenes were so tame, no nudity, movie was all in black and white and for some reason they kept showing an old opera singer. 5/10

The Black Christmas remake. O/10 possibly the worst movie I've ever seen. There were only four people in the theatre including me, and only two left by the time the credits rolled.

"Richard Jewell" - 8/10

Eastwood is such an economical storyteller now, but he knows how to make his movies pack a punch. This is a great one with fine performances, especially from Paul Walter Hauser (who somewhat stole the show in "I, Tonya") and Kathy Bates as the standouts. Sam Rockwell is always laudable (along with the criminally underrated Nina Arianda).

Transformers: The Last Knight (2017) Marky Mark, Anthony Hopkins, Josh Duhamel, John Turturro. Well this one was non stop action with some laughs and a hot chick but it was mess. 2h30 is way too long for that kind of movie and going from Knights of the round table/merlin, to underwater submarine fights to fighting in space was a bit of a stretch   . It was fun 7/10

Someone sent me a link to this.
Cotton Pickin Smash - The Story Of The Legendary Stardust Cowboy
https://archive.org/details/The_Legenda ... e_Story_Of..-

I know several of the people interviewed in the film. One of them, Jim Yanoway of Amazing Records, has about 15 minutes of face time. I'm glad for that. He was an essential element of the Austin Music scene in the 80s. He was responsible for exposing many Austin acts to Europe. When he died, the local music/alternative paper snubbed him by mentioning his death with only a few sentences. He deserved a long article. Jim must have made some enemies in his later days. In any case, he tells some great stories and was very funny.

The film is about a guy who calls himself "The Legendary Stardust Cowboy." He's quite a character....and he's FOR REAL.

"Uncut Gems" - 8/10

The Sandman and the Safdie Brothers in fine form. A really good movie about the unraveling of a jewel merchant with high-intensity, crackling energy. A little one-note but basically what you expect from the trailer.

"A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood" - 9/10

Hanks will probably get another Oscar nom for his performance. Does a credible job with the voice pattern of Mr.Rogers and has his mannerisms down pat. Mr.Rogers is really a supporting character in the film. The story focuses on the writer of an Esquire article (Matthew Rhys) and his relationship with his father (Chris Cooper, very good). It's been described as Mr.Rogers for adults and I would agree. It will make you think and look at yourself.

Well now you’ve heard of them, and may want to check them out. Except for The Apple. That will make you gouge your eyes out, so hard pass that one.

"Bombshell" - 6/10

Solid movie, but I'm not sure Jay Roach fully has the gift of artistry for serious movies. This comes off as sightly lightweight in its design. But the cast is very good.

"1917" - 9/10

Amazing movie. The use of digital technology to make it seamless was really effective. The performances, visuals, the score, it was all so well done. Definitely gonna be on a lot of best of lists for the year and on some lists of top war films of all time.

Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017) The story and the star wars universe is always fun but so many things bothered me with this one( the vegan, feminist, anti gaming/racing scenes were far from subtle) 2h30 is way too long for a movie like this.7/10
