DISTRICT 9 - 8 out of 10
I liked it, but it wasn't what I was expecting going in. I gave it a star on originality alone.

Inglourious Basterds- 8/10. A lot of fun. No real complaints; I was surprised to find out it was nearly three hours long upon leaving the theatre!

Eagle Eye - 5/10.
Mildly entertaining.
Predator - 8/10.
No matter how many times I've seen it, it never gets old.

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Last night I watched two movies on one of the HBO's.
The Rocker - Rainn Wilson movie. OK. Kind of a School of Rock vibe, but not as good. 6/10
The Heartbreak Kid - The remake with Ben Stiller. Fuck, the Farrelly brothers have fallen since they made great movies like Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin, and Theres Something About Mary. This wasn't quite as bad as Shallow Hal and Stuck on You, but it has no heart. 3/10

The Hangover - 7/10 Very funny, not as funny as Very Bad Things, but still very good, had me laughing out loud.
Terminator 4 - 5/10 Total waste of time, and not even as good as Terminator 3, which I thought was a very poor sequel to T2. I don't understand why Cyberdine, which is churning out hundreds, if not thousands of T800s on their assembly line, only have 2 or 3 terminators walking around to protect the place. Also, why is their technology limited creating man like robots, motorcycles and planes, oh wait, and eels. Surely, they could come up with some other designs? There's no character development either. There is one hot chick though. The whole film, much like Blade 3, seemed like it was video game.

For me
Taking of Pelham 123 7.5/10
I was expecting more from the ending but was kept entertained for the majority =of the movie.
Your turn
appaloosa-7 maybe a 7.5 at the most.

Grandma's Boy (Unrated version)
5-6/10
A few chuckles and kind of a "Dumb and Dumber" stupidity to most of the dialogue, but I've seen far, FAR worse movies. The first 10 minutes DOES seem like about 30, though. It was enjoyable enough, for what it was.
For some reason J.P. reminded me of Iggy.
Not so much the look.
Mostly the robot-voice and social skills.

Inglorious Basterds 2.5.
I wanted it to be great it just was too much for too little. I realize part of the charm of a Tarentino film is the dialogue but 30 minutes into it I was like "come the fuck on already"
This movie could be edited down to 1:30 from its 2:33 and be a freat film but at 2 and a half fucking hours it just PLODS along. With one hour shaved off this could be as good as Reservoir Dogs and a instant classic but its just too fucking long.....the characters were great but half assed introduced. I think next to Death Proof this is his weakest film.

Strange Wilderness - 2/5
I thought I might enjoy this, but it just didn't do much for me. Considering who was in the movie, it could've been a lot better.
The Condemned - 3.5/5
For what it was, I enjoyed it. Always been a HUGE fan of Steve Austin since I was a kid and I thought he did a really good job. Much better than any of the other films the WWE have slapped their name on.

DVD SCREENER
I really liked "Observe And Report". The movie had the same energy and vibe as "Eastbound And Down" (which I obviously love) and Seth Rogen's role was clearly written for Danny McBride, you can envision every line coming from McBride's mouth. I liked the soundtrack a lot as well, which really can make a movie better in my opinion. It was funny, but also kind of dark, which is welcomed...

Charade- 9/10. Great cast... highly enjoyable movie overall. I have to be in a certain mood to watch an older movie like this (it's from 1963), but I found it a lot harder to sit through than most, even despite some terribly cheesy lines.

I agree, he could have shaved off a good 1/2 hour and I think I would have liked it more. He is really in love with dialogue, which is good, but it stalls the flow of the movie. I still give it a solid B.acefrehleysbeer wrote:Inglorious Basterds 2.5.

Death Proof was unbearable, even with Kurt Russell.

Not usually a big Nicolas Cage fan, but I really liked this movie. I'd seen part of it before, but I'm glad I finally watched it all. Started to watch part two as well, but I fell asleep about 15 minutes into it. Gonna give it another try tonight.

Sex Pot - 5/5 - Really fucking funny. Lots of hot women, funny shit, more hot women, hilarious characters and weed.
And a few really bad scenes in 3D. ACK!!
Otherwise, it's fucking great, low budget, stoner, sex comedy.

Life is Hot in Crack Town
9/10
Surprisingly great.. never expected that ending. So many diverse characters with real issues.
Inglorious Bastards
2/10
The whole switching from English to French to German and back again got confusing and old. I just found it boring too.. drawn out way too much.

Funny People. I'd give it a 6 out of 10. If they cut an hour off of the move it would be an 8.

Saw District 9 last weekend...thought it was a pretty good and reasonably intelligent sci-fi film, although the last act saw it sink into generic cliched action territory. Refreshing to see a new sci-fi film that wasn't a remake of a classic or based on an old TV show, a video game or a toy.
