Don't Bother To Knock (1952)
I'm not sure what I would rate it out of 10, but it's a great movie, my 2nd favorite Marilyn Monroe movie only behind Niagara. Pretty damn dark for 1952, dealing with mental health, showing Marilyn Monroe's character's scar's from slashing her wrists, holding a razor blade to her throat, wanting to push the little girl out of the window and later tying her up and attempting to murder her etc... Monroe played the dumb blonde roll perfectly, but I absolutely loved her in the more dramatic roles like this.

The Comedian 6/10
De Niro makes another movie and once again the film falls well short of greatness.
In this film I like that he plays an insult comic because he tells some great jokes but
the plot has a huge hole and is not believable in the least.

Just watched this for the first time. You're right, pretty hardcore for the era. Good shit. I think I like The Misfits best so far, though I don't know Niagara yet either. Only got to see all the comedy kitsch before you could find obscure shit online.

Dirty Dancing(2017) Abigail Breslin, Nicole Scherzinger, Debra Messing Katey Segal, Bruce Grenwood, Billy Dee Williams. The lack of chemistry/heat between the 2 leads was the main problem, the guy playing Johnny was bad and Abigail is way too chubby. Still the story and the songs were there, i wanted to hate it since the original is just a fucking classic but the new ending really grabbed me  6.5/10

Wrestling Queens(2013) Funny french movie about 4 female supermarket employee turning pro wrestlers( movie was made with wwe approval) 7/10

I watched it today with the Charter On Demand while cleaning. It wasn't horrible, but it was weak. Even though in one way she is average (midwest average), for a role like that her body frame didn't match the part and her dancing was poor. On the other hand I liked the ending because it was more realistic in not having a happy ending with them as a couple

Finally got around to watching No Country For Old Men, today. 7/10. I liked it a lot. I love when directors use landscapes to create emotion, and there was a lot of that in this movie.

Collateral Beauty - 8/10. Will Smith is brilliant. Ending was fairly predictable, but still moving.

The Great Wall - 6/10. Fun action flick with paper thin plot. Battle sequences were well choreographed.

Underworld:Awakening - 0/10. Not even Miss Beckinsale can save this shitshow.

I think you'll like Niagara. Kind of a e Hitchcockian noir type of movie. Very different from what Monroe is mostly known for.

Fences
8/10
The acting was top notch. Denzel did a great job as an actor and directing the movie. A lot of dialogue here
so if you appreciate a movie that has a lot of substance and it not trying to entertaining you w/action
and special effects, this movie is for you. The writing for this movie was just great

The Apartment from 1960
9/10
Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine
What can you say about these two great actors that has not already been said. I feel bad it took me so
long to finally get around to watching the film.

for hardcore fans of the film and for fans that have seen both movies dozens of times, there is/was a touring group
where the film plays in venues where a full symphony provides the soundtrack live.

The Razor's Edge (1984) - 5/10:
Bill Murray in some dude's life story, who goes from fighting WWI to enlightenment in Nepal to being a Bohemian in Paris, where Theresa Russell is his hooker with a golden heart. The mom from 7th heaven completes the existentialist love triangle. This movie kinda sucked, although Bill rocks and Theresa makes for a hot junkie.

Trauma (1976) - 6/10:
Serious trash with Udo Kier (with hair!) as an author in a remote country house with his nympho lover Fiona Richmond and his nympho secretary Linda Hayden. This is half soft porn, half horror. Not bad.

The Quiet Ones (2014) - 6/10:
Hammer films comeback outfit, retro Brit horror. Solid stuff. They actually make the "scientific possession documentary" angle not seem too played-out. Erin Richards is hot in it.

Life During Wartime (2009) - 7/10:
Todd Solondz can do no wrong, he's one of the coolest directors these days. This is not his best effort, but still worth watching, especially if you've seen Happiness, which serves as sort of a prequel to this one, although the same roles are played by different actors here. Still bleak as fuck, but not as shocking or devastating as his earlier movies.

Wonder Woman
8.5/10

Best of the new D.C. Movies. Well made. Gal had some spotty acting. There were times that it was a little too much like first avenger. Good overall.

Bay watch
6/10

A few laughs. Not as good as hoped.

I was just coming here to post the same rating. 8.5 for me as well. Godot did a great job as did Pine. They had really effective chemistry together and though the action really was incredibly well done, the drama of it all was much more well-designed than I had anticipated.

It's a game-changer for WB/DC. Both Snyderverse movies and "Suicide Squad" were lacking. This movie was really decisive and bold. "Man of Steel" by comparison was too hesitant. This was the kind of vibe "Man of Steel" needed, or at least needed to end on.

Had to sit through the new Beauty and the Beast last night. The autotune on Emma Watson is seriously distracting. Did they get T Pain to overdub the vocals? I like Disney movies and I liked the cartoon, but I didn't like this one at all.

The original animated Beauty and the Beast is a stone cold classic. Then again, pretty much all of those classic Disney Princess movies are. Even better when you're getting hyped up for a Disneyland/Walt Disney World trip.
