Gomorra- 8/10

Grim and realistic movie about Italian mafia in Naples. The writer got himself a death sentence from the mafia and is in protective custody.

Drive - so boooooooring. Walked out after 35 minutes. There's almost no dialogue in the movie, as far as I saw. Bryan Cranston was of course good in his role, but this movie sucked. I hear it "explodes with violence" later into the movie but I couldn't care less about any of it by the time we walked out. Any director that spends five minutes of his movie showing someone driving someone else home with no spoken words and a slow, ethereal soundtrack has lost my interest.

Our Idiot Brother - Wanted to like this movie but it just fell flat. Also walked out after slipping into see it after walking out of Drive.

Book of Eli. 8.5/10

Really good film with a genuine twist ending I didn't see coming. Denzel Washington is awesome in pretty much anything.

Red State (3.5/5) - This review on Rotten Tomatoes describes my thoughts on this movie perfectly.
Neither the masterpiece Smith's partisans claim nor the bomb his detractors insist.

Carrie (1976) - 8/10, probably have already rated this one...gets another look based off the opening credit bush scenes alone.

Flipped (2010) Rob reiner film with a very old school feel about a boy/girl coming of age in the early 60's, theres not much going on but its pretty sweet 7/10

I read technically it's incredibly inaccurate. Does the crew chief really talk up the quality of the tires when they acquire the car? The most disposable thing on a race car?

What Doesn't Kill You. (2008) Starring Mark Ruffalo and Ethan Hawke. 8.5/10. Very similar to The Town, but more edgy. I thought Mark Ruffalo was great in it. Highly recommended.

Riot. (1997) 8/10. This is based on the Rodney King Riots. It is scripted but I think it is based on actual incidents that occured during the riots. It follows five different people during the riots (a Korean family, some Mexican kids, a cop, black person, and white person.) I only saw the first three stories, but it was pretty crazy and I think it did a good job of showing what happened.

Buried (2010) - 2/10. Sucked. Couldn't even get through the whole thing. I have yet to see a decent movie with Ryan Reynolds in it.

I will have my man card revoked (I probably never had one) for this: The Notebook. Despite my reservations about watching it, I have to admit it's a good movie. Seems like Ryan Gosling is one of the better actors out nowadays. 8/10.

McQueen movies aren't worse than 9 out of 10. Watch it again and adjust your rating.

Inception is self indulgent dreck. Shame on Nolan and shame on the critics for over rating that bloated cinematic equivalent of a vinnie vincent guitar solo.

I've watched it twice now, and yeah, it's pretty bad. This and The Blob are his worst movies that I've seen so far.
