Arrival 2016 - 7/10 - Not a great movie but I liked it better than Fences and Manchester by the sea. Cool scenario and a good lead character but.......spoiler: it has become the biggest cliche in sci-fi, the lead character goes into another dimension/room and has to face his/her inner demos. So fucking worn out. They did it in Interstellar, they did it in Solaris, a bunch of Star Trek movies have that scene....I'm so sick of it....

Ghostbusters(2016) Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Chris Hemsworth. Saw the original a few times as a kid, it was funny but far from a classic for me so this remake didnt feel sacrilegious. Most stars from the original are in this one as well except maybe for Rick Moranis and Debbie Gibson    .6.5/10

McHale's Navy (1997) 1/10- One of the worst comedies I've ever seen, although I fell asleep after 45 minutes. This is the kind of movie we used to watch coming down from coke because you could just stare catatonically with absolutely no brain function required. Tom Arnold is the luckiest man in show business. According to wikipedia this movie cost $42 million, which is the best argument for armed Marxist revolution that I have ever seen.

Indecent Proposal (1993) 5/10- I generally like movies like this but it was pretty boring. Woody Harrelson is his usual nearly retarded self and Demi Moore is hot but can't act. The plot is well known and ludicrous. The only good parts were with Oliver Platt as Harrelson's sleazeball lawyer friend.

Moonlight 2016 - 5/10 - If this was based on a true story then maybe I could have been more emotionally invested in it but a 2 hour movie about a guy who - spoiler - gets a handjob and gets bullied and can't have sex for the rest of his life? And it's not even based on a true story? Get out of here

I had seen parts of this, but never seen the whole thing start to finish. Well it came on yesterday and I was able to catch it all. It's an outstanding snapshot of California circa mid 70s. The quality of the filming is really something special.

The plot is OK, mid life evaluation kinda stuff. Sam Elliot is good as always. The real star is the cinematography.
Loved this movie. I had a copy on VHS forever that I got back when VHS tapes weren't a dime a dozen at a garage sale back in the early 80's.

Beware the Slenderman (2016). I went in with way too high of an expectation apparently. I was expecting a Paradise Lost or maybe even a Cropsey. It was all over the place, not even on the same level of a Killing Field episode in the form of keeping the story moving nicely. And the Skype-ish interviews didn't help. 2/10

Kevin Hart-What's Next?

Without a doubt, the worst stand-up I've ever seen and quite possibly the worst film I've ever seen. My friends and I cut it off after 45 minutes of it. If anybody on these boards say they like it, never, EVER trust their tastes in movies again. It really sucked.

The Motorcycle Diaries (2004) - 7/10:
Road movie about Che Guevara's South American travels in the early 50s, when he was still a medicine student. It's a decent road movie, though hardly political, so a bit weak as an "origin story" of one of the biggest revolutionary heroes. Starring the conductor from Mozart in the Jungle.

Don't Breathe (2016) - 4/10:
Generic intruder pseudo-horror that's as predictable as it gets, with some senseless "twists" that are none. Jane Levy is sorta hot in it, for a ginger midget.

Fedora (1978) - 7/10:
One of the last movies by Billy Wilder. Pretty contrived plot about a suicidal Hollywood star forced into identity-theft from her own mother and stuff, but worth it for Marthe Keller and Hildegard Knef in the leading roles.

Dan in Real Life (2007) - 5/10:
Gay by-the-numbers family rom-com with Steve Carell and Juliette Binoche, who carries the whole thing as good as possible.

not really a movie, but a Playstation 3 game from 2013 called "The Last of Us". Holy fuck was it good. 10/10! If you like survival thrillers, like Walking Dead, The Road, Children of Men, etc, you'll fucking love it.

You don't have to play it, you can just watch THIS guy play it. prepare to get addicted.

Jack Reacher - "Never Go Back" 7/10.

Can't stand Tom Cruise, but in this role the douchebag doesn't shine through.

I caught this movie last week. Michael Keaton was really good. I didn't know this was what happened to McD's at all. A crazy story,,,and it's all true! I m surprised McD's didn't try to stop them from making this movie. It didn't make the brand itself look bad, but Ray Kroc was a huge POS.

This is one of my all time favorite movies. IMO, the movie is great until the last 1/3. The actors were both brilliant. Perfectly cast film.

Someone Like You (2001) Ashley Judd, Hugh Jackman, Greg Kinnear, Elle Barkin, Marisa Tomei. Not a bad rom com but kinda weird to see a scene on a terrace mentioning they can see the twin towers in a 2001 movie.6.5/10

48 Hours - There are at least 25 racial things in this movie that would make it impossible to be released today. Great cast, very well written and really good gunfights.

Field of Dreams with my boys who are 10 and 11. Thought it would have been too slow for them, but they were fascinated by it. Had to make up an allergy lie during the catch scene. "What's wrong with your eyes dad?"
