vlad wrote:Intermission is another film where he plays a similar type of character, though not as "lovable". The setting of Bruges really works, because of the juxtaposition of an ancient picturesque city and the coarse characters and violence.
I'll check that out. Might need subtitles, though.

Midnight Special , great underrated movie 8/10 !

It has everything - started off as an Action flick , then goes into suspense , mystery and ends up Sci-Fi .

Best not to know too much about this flick before watching it .

Lethal Weapon 3 1/10. Just rewatched this after not seeing since it was on HBO or whatever in the 90s. I remembered it as being a not great but watchable entry in the franchise and it was a solid 7/10 in my mind. Good god was I wrong. Took me 2 separate sittings to get through the thing. Just complete fucking garbage. A bunch of unrelated scenes stitched together with the thinnest of connecting tissue. Complete fucking shit. It got 1 point because it did eventually end.

Terminator Genysis - Total shit, all the main characters are completely miscast, and the movie just "lacks" in every department. Easily the weakest in the franchise.

Nonetheless, as you're a married man, I would still recommend going out to movies alone.

NSU: German History X (2016) - 9/10:
Adaptation of the true story of the "National-Socialist Underground", a neo-Nazi terror cell that murdered at least 10 people since 2000. This is amazing acting quality for a TV movie. It's actually a three-part series, one part each focusing on the culprits, the victims, the investigators. The whole case is fishy as hell, as the Homeland Security agencies protects many Nazis on the payroll and tries to cover up a lot of shit they're involved in, since it's only immigrants being systematically killed. Pretty scary and educational, and just a great movie at the same time.

Jimi: All Is by My Side (2013) - 6/10:
Biopic of Jimi Hendrix's time in England. There's not much of a story here and no Hendrix music, movie focuses mostly on his relationships with women and managers. The Outkast dude does a pretty good job as Jimi, and Imogen Poots as Linda Keith is hot, but it's still very lackluster for the subject matter.

My Week with Marilyn (2011) - 5/10:
Movie's gay as fuck. Annoying voiceover, annoying characters, everything made me wanna punch people. Michelle Williams is super hot, though, which makes up for a lot of things.

The Color of Time (2012) - 5/10:
Episodic movie about C.K. Williams's life. Or something. It's mostly James Franco reading poems with different directors interpreting some biographical episodes of his life and work. I appreciate the effort, but entertaining it's really not.

"Black Panther" - 9/10

This is one of the best Marvel movies to date. As expected, it has a number of great action/combat sequences, but also has a lot of dramatic layers, too, about global responsibilities, politics, highlighting the balance between a traditional African culture and an ultramodern, futuristic one. The cast is really tight, and the typical Marvel humor is placed in all the right spots. There are two tags going through the very end of the credits, so stay put.

I'm pretty sure I see you give 9 out of 10 for pretty much all Marvel movies.
