The 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act failed to expand or even address the EITC abuses (or anything to do with the EITC that you're whining about) and it actually will cut the value of the credit over time. The tax law marginally decreases the amount of all benefits and credits, including the EITC, which means all those Trumptards in who use this will see their money shrink in the future...
An expansion of the credit would have mostly benefited those states that voted for Trump. Of the 15 states that have the largest percentage of tax returns claiming the EITC, 13 are in the South: Louisiana, Alabama and Georgia, with New Mexico being the only state that didn't go with Trump in 2016.
