It's an amazing thing how everywhere he appears where it's not expressly set up as being Pro-Trump (mostly rallies), he gets a negative response. Of course that's not the amazing part; that makes perfect sense. The amazing part is that mostly everybody expects him to get a second term.

The news media is not the enemy of the people. The electoral college is.

How awesome was this, right? I mean, I'm not sure I would have expected that at a very pricy, high-stakes major league game, but I'm all for the pushback. Given where we are now in Trump's term, I guess a lot of people are no longer having it, and seeing how in this country he's never in front of a crowd that isn't either made up of his base or handpicked, it was probably a very bad idea to put him amongst a crowd he couldn't be in control of.

I wonder what the vibe was like in his orbit after he left the game. I'm imagining a combination of rage and utter terror, both for which some poor aide likely had to do verbal backflips of lies to reassure poor little Donald of his greatness and job security.

That's a part of Sarah Palin's life in Alaska. Her publicist calls the conservative owner of a bar in Wasilla and tells him that Sarah and her (now ex-) husband will be there at a certain time. This gives the owner time to call all of his friends that are conservatives and they get all gussied up in their best outfits to go mingle with the Palins. After all of the seats are filled with conservatives, she strolls in to a bar full of well dressed, adoring fans.

If she just showed up out of the blue, almost all of the above conservatives would be somewhere else and the ones that would be there would be dressed in Carhart's or still in work clothes. Most of the bar would be empty but about half of the bar patrons would not be conservatives and she gets heckled when she shows up unannounced.

Surveillance video provided a dramatic portrait of action outside the al-Baghdadi compound, but could not show what happened in an underground tunnel where the ISIS leader died. For that, Mr. Trump would have to hear from Delta Force, or their commanders.

What the president saw, according to military and intelligence officials, was overhead surveillance footage on several video screens that, together, provided various angles from above, and in real time.

But those surveillance feeds could not show what was happening in an underground tunnel, much less detect if Mr. al-Baghdadi was whimpering or crying.

The close-up images of Trump crying while the boos and chants were escalating are sweet poetry. Some TV panelists seemed to think that display will not play well with GOP reps. Someone needs to do the whole "Sounds of Silence" edit that was done with the sad Ben Affleck video.

I've seen comments about people feeling sorry for him. This only lasts for a couple of seconds though, as most of those commenters snap out of it after immediately remembering that Trump is responsible for children and adults being beaten, killed, deported or thrown in cages.

So here's something interesting on a side tangent.

It's being reported today that disgraced Trump aide George Papadopoulos is considering a run for the seat just vacated by freshman California representative Katie Hill, who resigned after private pics and revelations of an affair with a staffer were leaked. This has become national news, although not everyone knows who Hill is.

The plot seems to be thickening. For one thing, the site that leaked the photos, RedState, stands by its decision to publish them while not revealing who they were obtained from. But now it's also looking like a tweet from Papadopoulos himself the day before RedState's story broke seems to allude to a pending open seat in her district. Perhaps this was a setup that had been in the works for a while.
