The GSA tells Biden and WH transition can formally begin.
Good. I suspect the possibility of a congressional hearing was all too real for her. Maybe somebody told her she would definitely *not* want to be grilled by Katie Porter.
I think she's gonna skate by and avoid any possible legal hassles, but the damage to her professional life has probably been done.
Bet your arse that had at least something to do with it.

Oh, for sure. And I don't think anyone wants to end up in a congressional hearing in this way. These hearings have a way of really spelling out "historical!" There's historical in the way that Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman or Fiona Hill nobly testified before Congress in the impeachment hearings and then there's the sort of way people like Emily Murphy end up in them, trying to tap dance and defend wrongdoing. I think she'd prefer to fade into the background now, but people will always remember her.
Since the election was rigged, where are the truckloads of White Nationalists taking the nation back by storm? Drinking and taking it out on their wives and girlfriends?

I asked the same question in my "Will there be a civil war?" thread. What's their breaking point? At what point do the Proud Boys and redneck patriot militias finally snap and march on DC with their AR-15's to finally overthrow Biden the tyrannical Democrat-run gubmint? They sure do a lot of talking for a bunch of rednecks who crow about the 2nd Amendment and its purpose for overthrowing tyrants but have yet to actually overthrow any governments.

The baby's going to throw fits to close out his term. He might even order DuPont to drain mercury into a major river. But as bad as it is to say.... so fucking what? The whole point is to rattle people. Time goes by quickly and then he will be gone. We will never allow him to be reelected, and history will look back on him as the mentally unbalanced pathetic fool that he is.

I was just watching Obama's (Barack) interview on Colbert's show. They really didn't bother to mention Trump by name but the subject was a focal point in a lot of the questions. Colbert asked Obama if he thought these last four years measured up to the fears Obama had about what would happen when Trump was elected and he simply said one word. "Exceeded." Which I think put a grave stamp to the summation.
History will look at Trump's ascendancy into the office as an embarrassing and horrifying mistake for a revered world power. A stain on the illustrious office. And it will also be an embarrassing reflection on tens of millions of Americans who either unknowingly failed to either or knowingly did spot but refused to repudiate a cruel and uncaring con man with an abysmal professional life. Many who read about his victory and term in the future will be astounded at how this happened.

I figure Trumpism will end up in the books as another weird American political mis-step like the Whigs and Know-Nothings, where people 150 years from now go: "Huh. Did that really happen? Olde timey people were weird."

Buckle up, folks. It's apparent that Trump is going to go out in a blaze of idiocy like nobody has ever seen. His argument in court... over a cell phone... is basically nothing more than "We won the election. It must be overturned." That's it. That's the whole argument. He never has made any sense but I get the feeling that he's gearing up for a grand delusion gibberish finale like the last minute of a fireworks show. There may ultimately be a straitjacket employed.

It *will* take decades, and you may be right, maybe a century or so, before the United States has had enough remove from this period for it to just be history from a long time ago.
At the very least, I suspect some laws are going to be changed because of what Trump and his cronies did. So people who learn these laws in school will find out why they came to exist.

The rest of the World, and they are still sniggering...
Raise your can of beer on high
And seal your fate forever
Our best years have past us by
The golden age of leather
Just saw a poll for the 2024 Republican Primary and Trump had 53% and Pence was 2nd with 12%. We really need ill health or something to distract him like his own tv channel or legal troubles to keep him from talking about running and thus his base will move on to other candidates (Jr. was 3rd on 8%) or go back to not voting.

You mean the hearing from yesterday? It wasn't even in court it was in a hotel. They tried to make it look official. They are grifting hardcore, fleecing their supporters and trying to make the rest of us question the system and keep things divided. His major backers have moved on so he has to grift on small donors and make it look like they have a chance to change the result. They were raking in $10mil a day right after the election.
Will Spanky pardon Ghislaine Maxwell? She could implicate him in some really nasty stuff.
“I’ve met her numerous times over the years, especially since I lived in Palm Beach, and I guess they lived in Palm Beach.”
“I haven’t really been following it too much.”
“I just wish her well, frankly.”
I'm gonna venture a guess that he WILL pardon her and try to twist it around, hoping to look like he's doing it because he's such a great humanitarian.
"I hear she's a very nice person who doesn't belong in prison. Now is the time for healing."
I reckon all songs are folk songs. I ain't never heard no horses singing any.
Yeah if he pardons Ghislaine Maxwell that's a dead giveaway. I hope he does. The ensuing cloud of implication would keep him out of our hair permanently. And all it would take is new allegations against her from the dozens of other victims to put her right back on the hot seat.

Also, it would seem, "Don’t let Joe Biden take credit for the vaccines.” Biden didn't work on the vaccines, scientists did. And he'd be the first to say that. You think you deserve credit? Motherfucker, you ain't done shit on these vaccines.

Look at this asshole today. Total meltdown, desperately trying to assert his power which he'll no longer have in less than eight weeks.
"I'm the President of the United States. Don't ever talk to the President that way." This is completely sad and pathetic.

We can talk to politicians any way We the People want to. They are our employees and calling them out for mistakes and/or insanity is what makes America great.
