LMFAO, they're comparing Giuliani to "My Cousin Vinny" as Giuliani's argument exposed his client to further liability. How the fuck does Giuliani get on Fox without having his "facts straight." Reality is that Trump told him what to say and then when the media explained the consequences of that story line, Trump made Giuliani his scapegoat. Sucker.

Sarah Sanders was reportedly so frustrated over being kept in the dark during the Rob Porter scandal that she publicly 'cursed and yelled' at the White House counsel
https://www.aol.com/article/news/2018/0 ... /23427917/

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was so frustrated over being kept in the dark at the height of the scandal surrounding former staff secretary Rob Porter that she publicly blew up at the White House counsel Don McGahn, The Washington Post reported.

A dozen West Wing staffers heard the "shouting match" that erupted between Sanders and McGahn in February, according to The Post. It reportedly stemmed from Sanders' anger over not being given enough information about the domestic abuse allegations that had just surfaced against Porter at the time.

After reportedly cursing and yelling at McGahn, Sanders refused to issue any public statements about the controversy until the administration told her more about Porter's situation. Eventually, Sanders appeared before the White House press corps to answer their questions about the scandal.

What a disaster this NRA speech was. Not only has Trump pissed off people fed up with the NRA and gun violence in America by simply going there to give this speech, but he managed to insult France and England by callously discussing the issues of crime and terrorist attacks (as Trump sees them).

It was also a real slap in the face to those Parkland students he hosted at the White House.

Kellyanne Conway claims Trump didn't lie about Stormy Daniels hush money
https://mail.aol.com/webmail-std/en-us/ ... t=st&r=871

President Donald Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One last month that he didn’t know about a $130,000 payment made by his lawyer, Michael Cohen, to porn star Stormy Daniels weeks before the 2016 election. That statement was contradicted last week by another Trump attorney, Rudy Giuliani, who said the president had reimbursed Cohen for the expense.

Speaking on CNN on Sunday, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway claimed there’s an explanation for that discrepancy: Trump wasn’t telling reporters he didn’t know about the payment. He was saying he didn’t know about it when it was made.

“In speaking with the president just yesterday, when the president said “No” on Air Force One, he was talking about he didn’t know when the payment occurred,” Conway told Jake Tapper. “It was a very fast-moving exchange… He’s saying he didn’t know about when the payment occurred. He found out about it after the fact.”

In the Air Force One exchange, Trump was asked, “Did you know about the $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels?” He responded, “No. No. What else?”

He was then asked, “Do you know where he [Cohen] got the money to make that payment?”

Trump responded, “No. I don’t know.”

As Tapper noted in his interview with Conway, the president was speaking in the present tense, claiming ignorance.

“That’s present tense,” Tapper said. “But he did know.”

Conway responded by referring Tapper to the president’s Twitter feed.

“You have to look at president’s three tweets,” Conway said. “I’m going to relay to you what the president has told me, which is the best I can do. He didn’t know it at the time the payment occurred.”

They have no worries. They sleep just fine knowing the brain dead followers will buy whatever Drumpf, Sanders and Faux News tells them to believe...

They know as long as they keep promising walls, kicking the gays back into the closet and rallying the NRAtards like he did this weekend, they'll always have a loyal to the death base who have no qualms about the continual lying, the backdoor payments to porn stars, playmates and hookers, the questionable ethics as long as he attempts to erase any laws or history that a half black man was ever in the White House....

Melania Trump's 'Be Best' materials have a familiar ring to them
https://www.aol.com/article/news/2018/0 ... /23429221/

Oops, she did it again.

Supporting materials presented Monday in conjunction with Melania Trump’s “Be Best” youth initiative turn out to have been lifted from a 2014 Federal Trade Commission pamphlet.

Titled “Talking with Kids About Being Online,” Trump’s document, which was distributed as part of the “Be Best” rollout, relies on the same graphic design and wording as the FTC’s “Net Cetera: Chatting with Kids About Being Online.” Trump’s pamphlet also contains an introductory letter by the first lady, advising parents to “communicate your values clearly so your kids can make thoughtful decisions when they face tricky situations.”

The similarities are far from cursory. For instance, the FTC’s 2014 document contains the following paragraph on the topic of sexting:

“Sending or forwarding sexually explicit photos, videos, or messages from a mobile device is known as ‘sexting.’ Tell your kids not to do it. In addition to risking their reputation and their friendships, they could be breaking the law if they create, forward, or even save this kind of message. Teens may be less likely to make a bad choice if they know the consequences.”

Melania Trump’s version contains that same text, word for word; this is also seen in other passages, such as one on the dangers of “oversharing.”

From the FTC document:

“Some pitfalls that come with online socializing are sharing too much information, or posting pictures, videos, or words that can damage a reputation or hurt someone’s feelings. Applying real-world judgment and sense can help minimize those downsides.”

From “Talking with Kids About Being Online”:

“Some pitfalls that come with online socializing are sharing too much information, or posting pictures, videos, or words that can damage a reputation or hurt someone’s feelings.”

Of course, this is not the first time that Melania Trump has been accused of repurposing Obama-era lines. An analysis of her speech at the 2016 Republican National Convention revealed that she closely hewed to Michelle Obama’s 2008 speech before the Democratic National Convention.

Aside from the Melania story, the Eric Schneiderman story in the New Yorker (linked to in various articles such as the one below) is the other big one. After what happened with Franken, when he wasn't allowed a thorough investigation into accusations against him, I think maybe that would be in order here given that plans detailed only weeks ago revealed Schneiderman's intent to close loopholes that would prevent New York State from charging Trump with crimes. I'm not saying Schneiderman is automatically innocent, but people are seeing the timing of these four accusations as suspect and an investigation needs to be had.

My thought on this is let the man work while the allegations are being investigated. If he's gonna be tossed to the wolves immediately or later on, hire someone else and make it explicitly clear that nothing in the planned activity is going to change. The law is the law, and that has nothing to do with whatever one man may or may not have done or with whichever person is the attorney general. Make it clear to the public (and by extension to the White House just in case) that taking out Schneiderman is not going to change the intent of the attorney general's office and that his situation has nothing to do with an investigation into the president.

Update: He's resigned.

The Donald Trump book club
https://www.cnn.com/2018/05/07/politics ... index.html

Something very strange has happened over the past three and a half months: President Donald Trump has started a book club of sorts -- recommending no fewer than seven books to his Twitter followers.
The books are a mix of retellings of the 2016 campaign by Trump-friendly voices (his tweet this morning promoted "The Great Revolt") and books written by commentators (Fox News' Ainsley Earhardt) and personal friends (Roma Downey, the wife of reality TV executive Mark Burnett). The common thread isn't a policy perspective or even a political viewpoint. It's Trump. These are all people who like Trump, and so he likes them. When they write a book, he tweets about it.

So why is this informal presidential book club so strange? Because Trump is a notoriously disinterested reader.

This, from Michael Wolff's "Fire & Fury," tells that story:
Here, arguably, was the central issue of the Trump presidency, informing every aspect of Trumpian policy and leadership: He didn't process information in any conventional sense. He didn't read. He didn't really even skim. Some believed that for all practical purposes he was no more than semi-literate. He trusted his own expertise -— no matter how paltry or irrelevant — more than anyone else's.

Trump recommends books the same way he lives his life: Transactionally -- and always with an eye on punishing his enemies and rewarding his friends.
THE TRUMP BOOK CLUB
1. "The Great Revolt: Inside the Populist Coalition Reshaping American Politics," by Salena Zito and Brad Todd
2. "The Light Within Me: An Inspirational Memoir," by Ainsley Earhardt
3. "The Capitalist Comeback: The Trump Boom and the Left's Plot to Stop It," by Andy Puzder
4. "The Russia Hoax: The Illicit Scheme to Clear Hillary Clinton and Frame Donald Trump," by Gregg Jarrett
5. "What Really Happened: How Donald J. Trump Saved America From Hillary Clinton," by Howie Carr
6. "Box of Butterflies: Discovering the Unexpected Blessings All Around Us," by Roma Downey
7. "The Faith of Donald J. Trump: A Spiritual Biography," by David Brody

Reading and telling the truth are for the little people. Trump gets his own version of reality so there is no point in reading. He can't lie since if he says it's true, then it's true.

What does my assertion of Clinton's qualification have to do with qualification of Donald Trump? Trump was irrelevant to the premise of the screencap of tweets posted by stagemanager. Trump wasn't qualified to be President either, and criticizing Clinton doesn't necessitate that one thinks that her opponent was more so.

This is extremely reckless and serves no one's interests. The Iran Deal was one of the only foreign policy accomplishments of the Obama administration and took years of diplomatic work. The neocons and the war hawks are cheering of course. This has John Bolton's hands all over it. Every word that has come out of Trump and his administration on this agreement is false. It's not a "bad deal", the Iranians were in complete compliance, and nothing needed to be renegotiated, nor will it be because they can't trust us to abide by obligation.

This is the worst shit he pulled yet. Just astoundingly reckless, idiotic and hypocritical. Iran complied with everything, USA is now completely unreliable regarding any global treaties. Any hopes for long-term Middle-Eastern peace negotiations just got blown to pieces. Look who's cheering, the good friends from Saudi involved with a genocide in Yemen; and Israel, who have no business calling out anybody else for breaches of international humanitarian laws either. Never mind who's actually stacking nukes here. Fuck Drumpf. This sets back the world by so many years. At this point, I wish any Western country would grow some balls and flat-out quit dealing with this fool, economy be damned.

Except Israel's and the Saudi's - the first geo-politically, esp. because it immediately counters Hizbollah increasing their vote and parliamentary representation in the Lebanese elections, and the second for its own geopolitics (essentially a pissing contest between Riyadh and Tehran) plus it's another great victory over the hated Shia. And common sense vs religion is never a good mix.
SeminiferousButtNoid wrote: Tue May 08, 2018 12:38 pmThe Iran Deal was one of the only foreign policy accomplishments of the Obama administration
Another strong reason why Trump wants to get rid of it. Crush the legacy, regardless of merit. I wonder how Obama feels about it - sad, angry or just kicking back with his money pile and saying to himself "it's not my problem any more"?
SeminiferousButtNoid wrote: Tue May 08, 2018 12:38 pmThe neocons and the war hawks are cheering of course.
Because they've never forgiven Iran for having the balls to stand up for itself in 1979/80, and in turn Iran has never forgiven the US (and Britain) for overthrowing their democratically-elected government in 1953 because Mosaddegh tried to break their stranglehold on the domestic oil industry. And it just goes round in more circles.

I agree, but I'm thinking that "JenniLynn" was comparing Clinton to Trump. To most people it was a choice between them, and Johnson and Stein were irrelevant. Out of all 4, who do you think was the most qualified?
