Austin or San Antonio

Post by DemonFilth2001 »

Have a big customer I need to meet in October. Marble Falls, TX.

Can fly into San Antonio...stay a few nights pre meeting or Austin.

Taking wife. She's never been to Texas.

Flights are stupid cheap.

What city would you take your wife to if she'd never been to Texas? SA is a 75 minute drive to customer. Austin is 40.

Will visit Aunt and Uncle last night there...20 minutes from customer.

I'm thinking...SA. We're not gonna go out until 2 am.

I've never been to Austin. Have been to SA about 20 years ago.

Thoughts, please.

San Antonio has the river walk with a bunch of bars and restaurants along the river.

Austin has Joe Rogan's comedy club.

Riki Rachtman has correct answer
Walk to his front door with camera on - ring the bell or pound the door hard as f*ck..ask him .
Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"

She'll fit right in. Everything's BIG in Texas.

I found San Antonio to be really boring. The River Walk is cool, but its bars on a river. The Alamo is okay, but it's done in about an hour.

I think Austin is a great town. Great live music and food. University Of Texas is beautiful. A couple of pretty good record stores.

My vote is Austin, but when you are out there make sure to goto Buc-ees. Its such an interesting place if you have never been. Yep, I am recommending a truck stop.

Never been to Austin, but I went to SA last spring. I went to a Spurs game specifically to see a rookie my wife was the Asst. Principal for when he was in middle school before he was recruited by St. Vincent/St. Mary (LeBron's high school). Sat courtside behind the bench and had a great time. Stayed at a hotel on the Riverwalk. Ate good food. Saw The Alamo. Went to a Mexican street fair (pretty cool). Decent amount of Mexican culture if you want to experience that without traveling to Mexico.

A long weekend is plenty of time in the city. Nice spring weather if you come from shitty late winter locations.

Austin has lots more cool stuff to see and do than San Antonio, but the traffic sucks.
Austin has a vibe and charm of it's own. It's a liberal hub, like Berkeley. San Antonio has a vibe like El Paso or Tucson.

I reckon all songs are folk songs. I ain't never heard no horses singing any.

What is/was that Elvis themed hotel/motel I stayed at when I went? I remember if being pink and wasn't too far from the Continental Club? Was around 2001.

San Antonio has one of nation's highest numbers of 311 calls about garbage problems

I'm not sure if the article will discourage you or encourage you, but I thought I'd pass it along.

I've been to both many times. I prefer Austin. San Antonio's so damn hot. Good food, though. Austin has a much better nightlife.

I think you should definitely go Austin and stay in the penis motel...

I agree with the penis motel suggestion. It's only slightly weirder than the Clown Motel in Nevada:
