Ever dated someone and wasn't quite up to their level?

Post by cowpins »

In my early/mid 20's I went out with an absolute 10. She was a few years older and was a doctorate in something, and even had a cool last name like Vanderberg or something. Blonde, glasses, drove a BMW she could afford from her fancy teaching job, etc...Think Niles Crane of women, but was sweet and HAWT. Had a nice dinner and drinks and went back to my place and rolled around a little (she was equally the aggressor), but she wouldn't let things go too far. Then she disappeared. Looking back I was the longer hair guitar dude and even though I was witty and kept her laughing, we didn't have much in common in regards to books and smart shit like that. Or she just went slumming for a night. She did call me back about six months later and left a message, but then no response.

Dated a couple guys who thought they were going to be Rock stars and were egotistical as fuck. They really were just seriously out of touch thinking they were juuust about to make it and were going to be pulling porn stars and supermodels. Didn't last more than a few dates then going to their shows to watch them ignore you. I made a rule not to date anyone who thought they were going to be famous its just too ridiculous and sad.

Yes, I dated a psychoterapist a few years ago and it wasn't what I imagined. She was a bit difficult at times. The funny thing was that she was friends with my own psychoterapist. So I ended up talking about her, to her friend. She doesn't still know that I was seeing her friend.

Well, even the guy she married isn't quite up to the level of the Bollywood star looking (no, not Indian..) former President's daughter educated at Le Rosey, working in international conflict resolution and now well on her way to a Ph.D.

I met her at a party at a mutual friend's and had no idea who she was when I asked her out. Not sure I would have had the courage otherwise. Had a great couple of dates including a Valentine's day but nothing more as we soon ended up in different countries.

Edit: Yes, I was on a date with the brunette in Ace of Base, Jenny. She was hot and rich but rather average intellectually. And religious.

I went out with a girl who had 2 masters degrees, public health and epidemiology from Yale and was getting a clinical psych doctorate from USC when we were dating.

It was kind of weird. Outside of the stuff she was studying, she was no smarter than anybody else I have dated. Girl had a background in statistical analysis, and still couldn't figure out a 15-18% tip.

My wife studies non-stop. She just grabbed a Bachelors in Nursing, from her laptop in the bedroom.

In the same time frame, I managed to live stream some 1000+ hours of Grand Theft Auto.

Once! I was in my early 20's and met a woman who was late 30's, early 40's. Very wealthy. Flew first class. Private chauffeur when she was in town. Stayed in penthouse suites. I was like her young, hot, boy toy she played around with. I foolishly wanted it be to more serious and eventually took all the fun out of the relationship.

It would've ended eventually (I think?) but still... I should've rode that one out a bit longer.
