Where have you been ordering your pizza lately?

Post by ParaDime77 »

Recently got roped back into Pizza Hut in the personal pan variety. My local target store has a Pizza Hut pop-up within it, I’d buy it early before 1130 when it’s hot and fresh. Usually cheese and a pepperoni. Brings back the childhood “Book It” memories.

Ordered Pizza Hut last night.

Think I prefer Pappa John's now. Out of the chains. I used to hate it.

I’ve always liked Pizza Hut’s pan pizza. But lately I’ve been ordering Jet’s 4 Corner Pizza. That shit is good!

I'm down to ordering pizza about once a month but I keep trying different local places and it's been more hit than miss. Since I'm not doing it as often, I don't mind spending a little more. It sucks getting old and having to give up or seriously dial back on the things you enjoy.

I'm not a fan of chain pizza. Domino's chicken wings used to be good. Way too much skin on them now. Like the skin is unusually thick. It's creepy.

Frozen Pizza.... Tony's in particular brings back a lot of good childhood memories. Dad was a drunk and never around so whenever he "cooked" it was either Tony's pizza or Angy's tortellini soup.

I gave up ordering pizzas when I got an air fryer. It can bake a store bought frozen pizza to a constancy much like a fresh baked one, plus I can add my own extra ingredients on top before I bake it. I usually add extra sausage or ground beef and green chile.

Papa Johns has a bogo on large pizzas if you order on line. I'll post the code if you want it. They're just filler, but You can eat for a couple days for 20 bucks....not bad.
I've been getting the Newman's own frozen pizzas lately. They're pretty good.

Local independents, mostly. Pizza Hot in Middleton and Posh Nosh in Beeston.
Had Dominos at work the other week, that was nice, especially as somebody else paid for it.

Ordered a local place last weekend via Doordash and both pizza's were fucked (second time in a row with the same place), so wifey called to complain and the owner texted us an image of how the order was received on his end and it was what he did. Fuck Doordash. Good pizza, though.

We only order delivery from local pizza places.
We have Little Toni's, that's really good, like Rainbow pizza.
We also have 2 For 1 Pizza. Not sure why they call it that, you don't get two of them.
The sauce is super tangy and they use fresh mozzarella.
And it's pretty cheap. You can get a large pizza for $20.00.

I haven't ordered pizza (for delivery) for ages; mainly because I'm close to so many choices in Vegas, so it's either walking to one of my favorites (Evel Pie #1, Pizza Rock #2) or frozen pizza the rare times I stay home. I eat pizza every day though for at least one meal.

When I lived in Minneapolis though, it was always Ginelli's (https://ginellispizza.com/) or American Pie (https://www.americanpiepizza.org/).

I worked T a pizza hut for 2 weeks in college. Horrible. I quit.

But we had a jukebox and served draft beer. My roommates would call in 2-3 large pizzas 1 hour before closing. Of course, they didn't come to pay. I'd put the boxes on top of the oven. Bring the pizzas home with 2 empty gallon milk jugs of beer.

They were pissed when I quit.

Evel Pie and Pizza Rock are both great!
Hard Hat Lounge also has great pizza, give that a try.

My dad has a neighbor named Tom (semi-senile) that brings over a pie to my dad's almost everyday. My dad says he does order one every day. It's a large sausage, onion and mushroom from a local mom and pop joint. We looked it up. Cost $28.00. Almost $1000 a month on pizza. Maybe it's all he eats. I hope they're giving him every 5th pie free or something. When that dude dies place will be hurtin'...

I vaguely remember Pizza Hut like that ... but I do fond memories of the pizza restaurant in my local mall. You would walk into the bar/lounge area where everyone was smoking. And the room was fully carpeted for maximum smoking pleasure. Then the family restaurant are was right next door but of course you had to walk through the smoky bar to get there.

It wasn't just the smoking. It was the whole vibe of the place was cool. Lots of places were like that actually. Nothing special really now that I think of it. But as a kid, it was cool walking into a lounge and seeing adults socializing.
