Big Wine Glasses

Post by Wild Obsession »

My wife bought these large wine glasses (I think a whole fucking bottle of wine fits in the glass) and for some reason they annoy the ever living fuck out of me, it's like a total "Karen" cliche of soccer mom drinking her giant glass of wine at the end of the day.

My gf just had her bday and requested a wine fridge. So now we have a 3 foot high appliance in the kitchen set to 56 degrees with 1 goddamn bottle of red in it.

Won't a whole box or two of wine fit in it?

I'm pretty sure TenBenny has a few of those, doesn't he?

Oh me and the boys have been drinking
Feeling like this is the wrong time for thinking
All I can say is
I'm doing fine with just me and my wine

The wife got one of those free as a product trial, but we couldn't fit the damn thing in the kitchen so it just sat in the lounge for 18 months. Gave it to some friends last week. Neither of us even drinks much wine nowadays, and there's no point in running two fridges.

So 56 is like "cellar" temp? Is that the concept?

It's a perfect temp for not tasting the straw.

56?

Boone's should be colder, like 45. Mateus is better near room temperature.

Ha ha!
When I was about 19, I went solo camping in the winter. I only hiked about a quarter mile into a narrow canyon with a tiny stream.
I slept in a small cave. I had a bottle of Boon's Farm Strawberry and put in the stream to keep it ice cold.

Several years ago, I bought a large bottle of Blue Nun, mainly for the blue glass.
The bottle looked so nice that a friend talked me out of it.

I like a big wine glass myself. Big rocks/scotch glass too. It helps the alcohol breathe.

At home I actually buy the stemless wine glasses because I kept breaking the regular ones! Maybe buy her a set of stemless ones and see if that annoys you a little less.

I've never had a single glass of wine that really made me want more and I've tried tons. It's always just...fine. Meh. We make a mulled wine at Christmas time that's delicious, but regulat-ass wine from a bottle? Don't get it.

Those are cool but sometimes I’ll just fill up my GNR pint glass with vino instead of using wine glass

Big glasses are for re wine.
I only drink white wine.
The reason I don't like red is because it isn't cold. I don't like any drink that isn't cold.
However, a glass of red with a bloody red slab of prime rib is a different story.
