Homeless/pedestrians getting hit by cars

I follow my local news on social media. Almost every day there's a report of some pedestrian, or transient, getting hit by a car when they are bicycling or walking. Maybe it happens more often here due to our large homeless population. Have you noticed this happening more often in your city?

Saw lots of homeless on walks to Hollywood Bowl for GNR and Kiss pretty funny

Life in Southbay Manhattan Beach and drive down PCH to Laguna. Never see any-wonder why

There is a specific area in my town in which cars often hit homeless folks. There are lots of shootings and stabbings too.
A lot of the homeless are using fentanyl, and are not very wary. There is also a YUGE lack of respect between humans in general these days.
Someone gave the world license to shit on civility.

My old workplace was in a sketchy neighborhood on a very busy road and the street people would just mosey right out onto it. Not at a crosswalk or even fucking looking first. Always with a defiant look on their face like "What you gon' do?" They're in no hurry to cross the street they're just doing it to flex. Getting hit by a car could be a nice payday for them, so there's that.
