Christmas dinner, what’s on the menu?

Post by VinnieVincentsVag »

Cooking for two isn’t always easy on holidays.
We made way too much for Thanksgiving and ended up giving a lot away and throwing out quite a bit.
There’s a new butcher in town, so we decided to get a couple of nice filets and a couple of football size baking potatoes.
Gonna make a pepper sauce and some Red Lobster biscuits
Seems much less wasteful and delicious.

What’s on your menu?

As we got older and the kids grew up and out, we simplified Christmas greatly. We’re getting brisket and pulled pork from City BBQ and all the sides. We will do no cooking. Also, doing Christmas on Christmas Eve. Christmas Day will be couch potato time with football and basketball all day.

I got ribs, Mac and cheese, and potato salad for Christmas Eve dinner, and steak, mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole for Christmas dinner.

I’m doing the exact same thing. Went to the grocery store with the best meat market and bought some huge N.Y. Strips and some big potatoes to bake. Can’t wait and I too will be in football heaven with three games to watch.

Potatoes done.
Cooking bacon now for garnish, then cooking steaks in the bacon grease.

We had our kids, significant others, and 2 grandkids over on Christmas Eve. Only 12 people and 3 dogs. Dinner at the in-laws this evening. There will probably be 25 people there. I don't stay too long. That mess drains me, but at least it isn't at my house.

We decided to give them a break this year.

In the spirit of Christmas, enjoy this new Deicide tune:

edited to add - I just watched the entire video - if you're a Christian easily offended by blasphemous images, you might want to skip it. Or take the stick out of your ass and have a laugh. Your choice, buddy.

Turkey breast, ham stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberries, gravy, something green probably and apple pie/ice cream. Nothing crazy. We just got back from OR yesterday and too tired not enough time to put together the usual delectables...

Just me and the wife. We had roast chicken, roast potatoes, peas, parsnips, Yorkshire pudding, pigs in blankets and two kinds of stuffing. Fucking lovely.

Lots of vino! A bottle Friday night at my brothers house, beers all night at my winter igloo Christmas experience, a bottle on Christmas Eve and a bottle right now on Christmas Day! A fantastic drinking weekend!

No way - he sells Hyundais. That's where the real money is.
