.......After operator fired for dishing about Obamacare

No matter what you think of the guy, he did step up for being the reason the woman got fired.

SOURCE

An on-air call from Fox News and radio host Sean Hannity to the Obamacare hotline on Monday led to a world of hurt — followed by a life-altering offer — for the operator who answered the call.

Hannity — an outspoken opponent of Obamacare — dialed up the phone number and was connected to a woman named Earline Davis, a mother of two working for a private contractor.

Hannity proceeded to quiz Davis about technical issues facing the glitch-filled federal health-care website, while also engaging in some casual conversation during the 10-minute call.

The talkative operator filled Hannity in on the problems with the Healthcare.gov rollout and the hotline. She answered all of Hannity’s questions — none of which put a positive spin on Obamacare.

HANNITY: They’re really telling you to tell us to check back in on the website in off-hours. Does that mean that I should go on at like three in the morning?

DAVIS: It was saying early in the morning and late at night, but some people say they do that and still can’t get in.

HANNITY: So people are reporting to you the real deal?

DAVIS: Yes sir, they are.

HANNITY: Have you ever got anybody that really likes it yet?

DAVIS: Umm, no, not really.

HANNITY: [laughs]

And now, as a result of the negative publicity surrounding her high-profile chat with Hannity, Davis has been fired.

“They fired me from my job,” she told Hannity while being interviewed on his radio program Thursday.

For his part, Hannity told his radio listeners he would compensate Davis for her expected year’s salary of $26,000 and help her find a new job.

Here’s more of Hannity’s conversation on Thursday with Davis:

DAVIS: “So, the next day I came back and they had, like, two people escort me upstairs to HR. And then it was three head people and me, we sat down, and so I’m like, ‘Why am I up here?’ I figured, OK, they want to talk about the phone call incident.”

HANNITY: “I’m very sorry that you had to go through that. I don’t want you to have to pay a price just for taking our call. So I want to help you out here.”

DAVIS: “I remember her saying, ‘We can’t have this type of stuff going on here, so we have to release you.’ They said that no contact with the media. No type of media whatsoever. We’re not allowed to do that at that company.”

HANNITY: “It’s not your fault I called.”

Hannity told Davis he would “gift” the money to her so she won’t have to pay taxes on it.

And now the polite, composed and patient working mom joins the ranks of millions of other employment-seeking Americans.

Saw this earlier. And not from WND. Really, you go to get better reading material.

Hannity ain't putting much of his money where his mouth is, as his latest conract is 149 million or so. Plus, I think his little bubble shows when he says that 25,000 is "pretty decent". On what fucking planet?

I am sorry she got fired by the private contractor....it's too bad that Hannity took valuable time away from people that actually wanted to sign up.

The website problems are a huge bummer for the states that didn't get on board. My state, Oregon did. The exchange is fucking awesome. We've halved our premiums and don't have to travel 75 miles to get our "network providers". Beginning January 1st, we'll be paying less than we were 11 years ago. We make too much to get the tax credit, but that's fine.

Has Hannity been waterboarded yet?

But yeah, nice of him to give what amounts to not even 1/10 of one percent of his salary to this person. That's like me getting somebody fired and tossing a quarter at them. What a swell dude.

What about her health insurance? Will he supply that as she used to get hers from her former employer. Since he is manning up for once, he should cover her COBRA costs too.

Was the story I quoted not true? And he is asking questions that a lot of people are asking, so it saves them from calling or crashing the website.

She was only on the job for 5 weeks so I doubt she had health insurance. I wonder if there is some other option she can get coverage with.

If only there were someone to help pay for a portion of the cost like an employer would? Maybe the humanitarian who got her fired.

I've noticed a pattern. Republicans like Ted Cruz shut down the government and realized only after things were fucked up by the Republican shutdown that government does good things like help cure kids with cancer, provide relief to war widows and aid to disabled veterans . Hannity decided to prank call one of those evil Obamacare people and only afterward discovered there were unintended consequences for his actions. A whole lot of "Let's roll" followed by "Oh shit!"

Do you know if her former employer offered a healthcare plan? Do you know if she had any insurance before Hannity "prank called" her?

And it is funny that you think that Ted Cruz and his ilk have the power to shut the government down. You are giving that boy more credit than he deserves.

She as sure as shit doesn't now.

I understand that you have somehow learned to live with your head up your ass full time so it's possible you haven't read a newspaper, online article or watched a television newscast in the last few months. Congress, the branch of government to which Cruz and his ilk belong, controls the budget and decides how much, if any money will be spent. When they decide not to spend any money, the government shuts down. If you actually bothered to read the Constitution instead of depending on the mental pablum Sean Hannity, Alex Jones and Glen Back feed you, you would have never asked such a stupid question.

So, you do not know if it was an option to her. Thanks.

Glen Beck is like the Howard Stern of talk radio, I will give you that. Not sure who Alex Jones is... but anyway...

The pointless shutdown could have been prevented if they warring parties could have come to an agreement. That didn't happen. So, the toys were taken away. A lot of political grandstanding on both sides happened to what result?

Furloughed non essentials are getting paid now. Parks are open again, and the individual mandate might be delayed.

BTW, what branch decided on what to fund and what not to in the "shutdown"?

Did you actually read a transcript of what he asked? He identified himself and it went from there. He obviously wasn't looking for health insurance informtion but was digging for dirt. Like:
“Do you know the average man in this country is gonna pay 99% in increase in his premium and an average woman 62%?”
That wasn't a question, but for the benefit of his listening audience. As well as being a load of crap.

No, I did not read a transcript of it. I heard it live on air. He asked questions pertaining to the law. What was wrong with that? He did it to a few other phone bank employees as well in the the next few days.

What you're really asking is who decided what agencies had to keep running with what little leftover money remained from the last budget in order for the US government to remain in existence as a functional entity? If you had ever read the Constitution, you wouldn't need to ask.

Ermmmm...okay.

Pronouncements like the one I quoted are not questions. They are statements. Don't pretend Hannity was just innocently asking questions..to underpaid people who should not there to be his foils as he preaches to his choir.

I'd invite Hannity to call me, I'm just dying to tell him just how great the Affordable Care Act has been for me and my husband. Please, please call me Sean.

Fuck off, Roadhead. The most you've done is give several years salary to Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons and George Lucas for shitty dolls and trinkets to masturbate yourself upon. You've whored yourself for shitty New York Dolls impersonators and juvenile movies cribbed from John Ford and Kurosawa films with a shiny gay robot and a beeping trashcan spliced in to provide the illusion of originality. Yay for you!

I wish you would post it on my FB page. I have a couple of friends who do nothing but post stories "they heard" of people who are getting screwed. None of them have been screwed, just "people they know of". Of course having a rep governor, it is entirely possible.

Hannity is an incredible dumbfuck who constantly gets owned on his own crazy right wing show!
