ECONOMIST: But beyond that it’s OK if the tax plan increases the deficit?

TRUMP: It is OK, because it won’t increase it for long. You may have two years where you’ll… you understand the expression “prime the pump”?

ECONOMIST: Yes.

TRUMP: We have to prime the pump.

ECONOMIST: It’s very Keynesian.

TRUMP: We’re the highest-taxed nation in the world. Have you heard that expression before, for this particular type of an event?

ECONOMIST: Priming the pump?

TRUMP: Yeah, have you heard it?

ECONOMIST: Yes.

TRUMP: Have you heard that expression used before? Because I haven’t heard it. I mean, I just… I came up with it a couple of days ago and I thought it was good. It’s what you have to do.
For the record, we are NOT the highest taxed nation on earth.

The US is tied for second place when it comes to highest corporate tax rates in the world.

...Or is it the highest?

"It's a rock-solid fact that the U.S. corporate statutory tax rate is the highest among developed nations and is significantly higher than the average. According to 2014 data from the OECD, the combined federal and state statutory corporate tax rate for the United States is 39.1 percent. The average of the other 33 members of the OECD is 24.8 percent — 14.3 percentage points lower than the U.S. rate. Weighted by country GDP, the average for these 33 countries is 28.3 percent — 10.8 percentage points lower than the U.S. rate."
https://www.forbes.com/sites/taxanalyst ... fe74cc742c

That was 2014. As of right now we are at 38.9 percent.

You nitpickers are incredible.

"39.1%: CBO Says U.S. Has Highest Top Statutory Corporate Tax Rate in G20"

"The United States has the highest top statutory corporate tax rate—39.1%--of any nation in the G20, according to a study released Wednesday by the Congressional Budget Office.

That rate is nearly twice as high as the 20-percent rate in Russia, which, along with Saudi Arabia and Turkey, has the lowest statutory corporate tax rate in the G20.

The U.S. won the top spot on the statutory-corporate-tax-rate list after Japan and Germany, which formerly ranked first and second, cut their rates.

“The United States made no change in federal corporate tax rates between 2003 and 2012,” said the CBO, “and by 2012, it had the highest top statutory rate in the G20.”

The five countries with the highest corporate tax rates

1. United States - 40%
America has the highest corporate tax rate in the world among major economies. Its top rate of 40% has encouraged a number of companies to “invert.” In an inversion, a U.S. company buys a foreign subsidiary and moves its headquarters (on paper, at least) to that country to enjoy a lower tax rate—a practice that Fortune has called positively un-American.

Rev....I have a corporation. And yes, while the initial tax rate is high, the amount of deductions that lowers that rate is pretty damn impressive. The actual amount paid is a fuck of a lot lower. Any corporation that can't do that is very badly run.

Also, all the Trumptards that voted for Trump weren't thinking about the corporate tax rate when he was hollering about lowering taxes. They were thinking about their own. Which are very low compared to the other first world nations (the ones that have not ridiculous healthcare costs, etc.).

Then they aren't as impressive!

The point is about the corporate tax rate though and you cannot deny our "lofty position" on the charts.
If you have a corp, why would you bitch about him trying to lower your taxes?

So now Trump supporters are using numbers from the CBO to support tax cuts but when the first version of Trumpcare was up for debate they claimed that the CBO was clueless so clueless in fact that the house didn't even wait to see what the CBO had for version 2.

More like prime the *Trump*... for impeachment.

Oh shit, upon closer inspection, he actually said he coined the phrase "priming the pump" himself. That idiot asks if the reporter is familiar with it, but then says he came up with it days ago.

Mike Rogers. It's on front page of MSN.

The whole "prime the pump" thing is a perfect random sample of Trump's personal integrity, or lack thereof. He obviously does not realize that tossing out random tall tales with every breath he takes undermines his credibility, which in his case is absolutely in the shitter at this point. Then again, this is the guy we all KNEW before the election had that schizo alterego "John Miller" and still has never owned up to any of that. He has major mental deficiencies.

First thing I thought of was George Costanza telling somebody he invented the phrase "Pardon my French". That's right: We have George Cant-Stand-Ya as our president. Only without the funny.

Because she cares about her country's future more than her own personal gain?

The Bushtapo is hilarious. Republicans claim they love this country more than Democrats, they'll gladly send young, ignorant Americans off to war, they'll do anything for this country except pay for it.

BaldNRev calling anyone a laughingstock is like Casey Anthony calling someone out for spanking their kid.

John Tyler is the reason the term "laughingstock" was invented.

Nice non-sequitur argument, there.

No one's shocked at Comey's firing because we love Comey. We're shocked because Trump fired the man who was investigating him for doing unlawful shit. That is the move of a dictator. Did you really need that explained to you?

This isn't even about politics in a left vs. right way. This is about blatant, open corruption and everyone should be angry. The fact that you think it's about whether Democrats currently do or no not like Comey is yet another blatant example of you not paying attention, blindly following, and not thinking. Still.

Really?
"The" man?
As in "the only man" investigating Trump?
Does firing Comey somehow stop any investigation into Trump?
Does all the info collected up to this point just vanish?
Again... Nothing but Henny Penny chicken shit coming from the fearful left. Always shaking in their feetie pajamas at non-existent boogie men.

Comey was fired because he greatly hurt the reputation of the FBI.

I didn't say everybody in the military is ignorant, I said "young ignorant". Most of those kids don't know politics. There are two large military bases on the outskirts of Anchorage and I have worked with these kids for decades. When I ask them "why are they sending you off to war?", most have no idea why and the rest just give stock Republican answers like "To protect our Freedoms" or mumble shit like "Sharia Law" or "9/11"
