Saw Wonder Woman today in IMAX 3D.
Was surprised to see Robin Wright, she's excellent in her role. Chris Pine came off likeable and Gal was absolutely the perfect choice. Some nice, quick gags sprinkled in. Nice double twist at the end. Best thing DC has done in a while, but I enjoyed Logan far more. A bit on the long side (2hr 21min) but still, I'd reccomend this for a one off. Enjoyed it. 3.5/5

Was it the best movie of 2016? That is up for debate but this film was powerful
and featured some of the best writing in a long time

There was a Marilyn Monroe marathon on free TV this past Saturday. Watched it all day. I've seen all of them so much I can say the dialog along with them. Favorite is 7 Year Itch. So pretty and funny and sexy. Wish we had her longer. 10/10 on ALL.

Ultraviolet - 2. Probably the worst dystopian film I have ever seen. Well, maybe Priest is worse.
Tremors 2 - 5. I loved the first one, and can enjoy it on repeated viewings. This one suffers the typical sequel problems. It's okay, and I liked how they tried to mix things up with the evolution of the Graboids. But it just overall feels like a poor mans version of the 1st one.
The November Man - 7. Pierce Brosnan basically playing a retired James Bond. Starts off well, but half way through, it starts hitting the same double crossing cliches that litters this ilk of film.

12 Years a Slave(2013) Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Benedict Cumberbatch. I dont get why this movie got so much hype/praise, guess it had to do with the subject matter, 6.5/10. if you love to hear the word nigger this is for you, they used it more than any gangsta rap album
Lost and Found (2016) Jason Patric, Cary Elwes, Its kinda like Goonies with 2 teen brothers looking for a treasure on an island and a hot chick helping them(Celeste Desjardins wow). 6/10

Raging Bull - 10/10. I haven't seen this film in ages and finally decided to watch it again. Been having a love hate relationship with Scorsese lately as I feel a lot of his films are not aging well, but this film is an absolute masterpiece.

"It Comes at Night" - 7.5/10
Not what I expected. More of a slow burn survivalist horror film. Good suspense, good cast. I'd see anything with Joel Edgerton at this point.

Role Models - 7
Enjoyed this movie quite a bit. Quite a few laughs, and some solid actors in this one. A lot of KISS references. A little predictable, but not unusual for this type of film. Did it better than most.

Coconut Hero (2015) - 7/10:
Indy flick from Canada, I believe. A bullied, suicidal dork from a broken family survives shooting himself in the head and is diagnosed with a brain tumor in the process. Then he meets a hot chick in rehab and they run away and she dies and everything is terrible. It's a comedy.
The Tree of Life (2011) - 6/10:
Artsy movie mostly portrying the life of a terrible Texas family in the 50s with Jessica Chastain and Brad Pitt. It looks really awesome and it's all touching and shit, but it's just too pretentious most of the time. Like, pseudo-philosohical whispered voice-overs of a child waxing poetic about the connection of the universe, give me a fucking break.
Lolita (1962) - 6/10:
Kubrick's adaptation of the Nabokov novel. Disappointing to me. Way long and I hated the guy playing Humbert. Not sure why they put the ending up first either. Sue Lyon as Lolita seemed too old from the start, they really should have used different actresses for the reunion.
The Mission (1986) - 7/10:
Robert De Niro and Jeremy Irons in the quasi-historic story of a Jesuit mission in the Amazon, converting the native tribes to their bullshit and fighting against Catholic Portuguese slave trade. The nature is the star of the movie, the story is too black and white. The Jesuits are portrayed to be a bunch of self-less martyrs against the evil slave traders, when they were all oppressive colonial bigots.
Amour (2012) - 7/10:
Michael Haneke big breakthrough. Old couple dealing with estranged daughter and stroke stuff. It's good, but not really what I like about Haneke. Although the twist ending is quite typical again.

If this is the start of a new film universe, this is dead in the ground. All these studios trying to copy marvel are forgetting you have to start with a good movie.

Oceans 12 - 6. Man this film was smug. But when you see the cast, it is not too surprising. The end was a bit naff compared to the first one. It was like, is that it! And the Julia Roberts playing a character who pretends to be Julie Roberts was dumb.

McCarthy, Lowe , Nelson i can only imaging all the groupies/parties those guys must have had shooting on location for weeks.

One of the better superhero movies of the last few years. DC needs to get Patty Jenkins to direct the rest of their movies.

Wheeler (2017) Stephen Dorff, Kris Kristofferson. Movie is about a singer/songwriter from Texas trying his luck in Nashville, i was SHOCKED to see that the score was all written and performed by Dorff, the songs were really good , great voice and they could easily be hits and thats coming from someone who doesnt like country all that much. Had no clue the guy could sing,The ending of the movie was totally unexpected as well 7.5/10
