How great was Roxette?
Sometimes when I want to watch a great live concert with great melodies and lots of energy, I put on a Roxette concert. They were great, specially live!

Not very. Ace of Base smoked their ass.

Re: How great was Roxette?
You're surerly joking. Ace of Base was 4th rate Abba. Roxette, deep inside, was rock n roll.

I like Roxette. Some really good solid 80s pop tunes. Look Sharp is a good album.

Ace of Base is the very definition of being at the right place at the right time with crappy songs. A 4th rate Abba is being generous.
Roxette was a hit machine with classic pop songs.

They were an OK pop band. Some talent and some decent songs. They looked good/right for the time.

Loved them. "Cherry Bay" should have been HUGE.
It's hard for me to get used to these changing times. I can remember when the air was clean and sex was dirty.

Love 'em. One of Sweden's finest pop acts. I actually prefer them to ABBA...

Re: How great was Roxette?
Lol, Roxette slays Ace of Base. And I'm not a big pop music fan, overall.

Very good song by Dr. Feelgood, the band isn't bad either.

That album Mötley Crüe was Dr Feelgood's best.Hellsinkey wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2023 5:38 am Very good song by Dr. Feelgood, the band isn't bad either.

I liked them. Look Sharp was great. Many good songs...The Look, Joyride, Listen to Your Heart, Dangerous, Dressed for Success.
My first concert ever in 1992, so I remember them fondly, although I lost track of them after the early 90s.

Yes, saw them do two nights at 12k Scandinavium in Gothenburg on the Joyride tour.
The first three Roxette albums were great.
As for Ace of Base they had a few good songs and the brunette singer was hot. And super religious.

All were pure pop bliss. Adding Fading Like a Flower and It Must've Been Love. Like just PERFECTLY well written songs.
Some band called LIPZ covered Dangerous not too long ago!

Loved them and still do. Pop perfection who melded their 60s, 70s and 80s influence flawlessly. Their production was brilliant and still holds up.

They were a very good pop band that was fully capable of rocking.

Well I'm kinda new here, but I think this is the first time 99 per cent of the people in Metal Sludge agrees: Roxette kicks ass!
