Abbreviating album and song titles…

The one that started it all. Spreading gossip and insults since 1998.

Abbreviating album and song titles…

Post by Shredderpete »

…does my fkn head in. Oh did you hear about the obscure Sunset Strip band Glittered Puma Dick, how they were best friends when they made JSYE but were barely talking to each other when they recorded AUBT for the UQHD record, and then Fizzy left to do the solo album OOTH?

I’m a busy man, I’m trying to drink this beer, pet this dog, sling shit on Twitter, scan Sludge and watch a Mighty Boosh compilation.

On a serious note, do you prefer Tallica's Justice or Puppets?

That’s such a hard question. I love them both particularly Justice, which in a way felt more like the teen-nerd angst I was growing through at the time I heard the album. Puppets was released when I was 8 and I didn’t quite have access to metal yet, so I heard that when it already sounded a bit dated, whereas by the time I heard the first stuff off Justice, it still felt unique and modern.

Some abbreviations are especially cringey…

‘Jovi’ for Bon Jovi. 😩 Painful.
‘The Leps’ for Def Leppard. Gee, that’s a real timesaver.
‘Motley’ for Motley Crue. I’m embarrassed for you.

What would your songs be if they combined both UYI albums and TSI?

ADKOT always made want to vomit from how many times I’ve seen it referred to on this board through the years.

Not to be confused with OOTW, the album between TFC and PIP.

Eh. I don't see that many Europe albums being abbreviated here for some reason. I think I've covered all the main ones.
