Their ep Popkiller with Toby Jepson (Little Angels) is really good too. Shame they didn't do more together.BulletProofPoet wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 10:34 am
GUN - never really get talked about on here but those first 3 albums are spectacular! The new stuff without Mark Rankin is also still really solid.

agree with most of that list, but especially this one.Whatever Happened To… wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 10:07 am The Ultras - The Complete Handbook Of Songwriting
had no idea it existed until a few weeks ago.
"Galactic Kid", "Charged" and the cover of "Kodachrome" are great, but "Tramp On The Road" is one of the weirdest things I've ever heard, lyrically at least.
I love it.

Re: You favourite D-list releases
Just recently pulled out my White Trash debut on vinyl. Was surprised at how much I like it now. The songs and riffs are all awesome and I love how it sounds quite under produced and raw.
Si O Si Que is a good album too.

Re: You favourite D-list releases
I'll throw in another one:
Cannata - Images of Forever
This is a hi-tech AOR masterpiece with a touch of prog. Dude used to have a band back in the 70s with James Christian from House of Lords. Christian did backing vocals on the album.
Might as well mention the Arc Angel debut from 1983, which is nearly as good. Pretty much the same band.

Love them. The first two and Human Nature are excellent.Nobodyspecial wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 4:02 am Harem Scarem - The greatest Canadian band that basically no one here in the US has ever Heard of.
I will add Trouble Tribe. "Tattoo" and "Here Comes Trouble" are fun tunes.
Also, Motherland and Pandemonium from Pretty Maids are both solid releases.
