Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
Speaking of Barao, they've made the new main event for 173 Barao vs. Dillashaw, and added Ellenburger vs. Lawler. Could be a pretty badass card afterall.

So the NSAC announces that TRT is banned, Vitor says he will stop his TRT program but will not be ready by UFC 173, Lyoto now replaces him.

So Gil is staying in the UFC, and is coaching the next season of ultimate fighter opposite Pettis. Gil's pretty much proving the number one rule of negotiations- be willing to walk away.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
It looks like Melendez and the UFC couldn't agree on the terms of his new contract, and he may take a Bellator deal. Dude loses a razor close title fight that could've gone to him, then puts on a FOTY candidate with Sanchez. It would be crazy for Dana not to try to keep him, his bullshit is ruining ...

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
Dana said on his twitter that Anthony Johnson is returning at UFC 172 to face Phil Davis. The guy went on a tear after being released. Hopefully he's got his head on straight. Johnson vs Davis should be a good fight. True, but he's been on a tear against mostly scrubs. I see a sub finish from Davis...

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
I agree completely. Weidman is basically the Jones of the middleweight division. and It's ironic that they got tehir belts from dethroning two of my favorite fighters. Like Bodybagz said, Weidman's real test is Vitor, but there's also Jacare, Mousasi, and Machida around the corner.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
Weidman ABSOLUTELY deserves credit for that win. Not only did he take him down and punish him with ground and pound like expected, he dropped him in the clinch, which is usually where Silva shines. Not only that, the only real offense Silva got on him in the last fight were a few really good leg kic...

Damn. That was unexpected. Give that man a title shot. I don't care where and at what date, just give him one. Three headkick KOs in a row after never having KOed someone with kicks. Ridiculous.

I didn't watch any of the other fights, but Kennedy's KO over Natal was pretty good, especially since its come out that he tore his quad in one of the last days of training.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
169's looking pretty good. UFC's PPVs have been really fucking good lately Lamas/Aldo, Mir/Reem, and Barao/Cruz is set for the event. The last stinker of a PPV was 161 which had an injury (I think Aldo vs Edgar was supposed to be on this card) and before that 151 because of the Jones/Hendo fight bei...

Machida/Munoz is today. I gotta go with Machida, hopefully he comes out with a stunning KO.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
Except before his last fight, he was on a 3 fight KO of the night streak. He can beat anyone outside the top ten and loses to anyone in it. That's a gatekeeper.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
You guys are funny, saying a guy that couldn't beat the 2nd best heavyweight in the world should hang it up. So, what, there should be like 5 fighters in each division, because anyone who's not the best of the best should just quit? Divisions need gatekeepers, and Roy is still perfect for that role....
