Re: The official NHL thread

Jackets win again -- they're now 13-6. They went 3-0 on a west coast roadie, beating LA, Anaheim, and San Jose, and tonight they take care of Nashville at home.

They still don't have Huselius or Moreau, but Nash is on fire.

This season will be fun if they can keep it up.

Re: The official NHL thread

Columbus is 8-4 with 16 points -- that doesn't really "suck". Hell, when they lost Commodore, Huselius, and Moreau I was going to be happy with .500 hockey. Saturday they play Minnesota and the Buckeyes don't play. If they don't draw 14K, then they have problems. Garon is playing really we...

Prior didn't have a perfect delivery -- he had the same issues with mechanics that Strasburg did.

Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread

I just heard Strassburg will miss the next eighteen months. Ouch. Who knows if he'll ever return to form either. A lot of guys never do after that Tommy John thing. Sucks for Nats fans and sucks for baseball in general. That kid was the shit. His form is most likely what caused his injury to begin ...

I stopped listening after hearing the Merkur story for the 10th time, and the fact that he's a hypocritical kiss-ass. He slammed the X-Games and guys like Tony Hawk for years . Then when Hawk finally comes on his show, he couldn't get on his knees and swallow fast enough. He's done it with other ath...

Re: Who would of won this boxing matchup?

Depends which Buster shows up. The motivated Buster that beat Tyson would have kept Norton at bay with his jab, and would have been able to avoid Kenny's clumsy lunges. Douglas had one of the best jabs for a heavyweight -- on the Tyson/Spinks undercard, he knocked the dude down with it. The lazy Bus...

I thought he slept for a few hours and then got up, but didn't realize he was still drunk. That being said, if you run across traffic away from a crosswalk and get splattered, you are partly to blame -- drunk driver or not. A sober driver would have better reactions, why would they get a pass for no...

Tony Tucker. Broke his hand in his fight with Tyson.

And Hagler lost to Leonard because he let Leonard dictate the fight. Did he "steal" some rounds? Sure. But Marvin gave away the first four rounds by half-assing his way around the ring chasing Leonard and looking foolish.

Re: Dougas vs Mike Tyson 20 yrs ago, ESPN.COM

Actually, Douglas is back down to about 240 now. He looks good. Tucker gave Douglas the blueprint -- jab and move and clinch. Tucker was doing well early against Tyson, until he broke his hand in the 4th round. That's why he didn't do much the rest of the fight and just tried to survive. I honestly ...

6' 3" and white, and I could dunk a volleyball back in the day.

In order to dunk a basketball I would've had to cradle it against my forearm. I had some hops, but not that much.

These days I can still touch the rim without a running jump, but that's about it. My knees and ankles are shot.

They were extremely talented. And cocky. And they backed it up, most of the time. The film was made by a Miami grad, so of course he didn't show the Bama game. Apparently he felt the Penn State game was balance enough. As others have said, he also forgot the Tennessee game, and the Washington game w...
