“Eventually we found ourselves in the middle of an onion field. When you’re hungry and don’t know where and when your next meal is coming, you can eat almost anything. Did you ever play the sequel "Night of the Tentacle," or something like that? I used to love that game.

Blades of Steel! Zelda SMB 1 & 3 Contra Metroid Ghost n Goblins I still prefer these to the modern games which are overtly complex. Give me an 8 or 16 bit side scroller any day. I agree, with the exception of Grand Theft Auto; I can get lost in those games for weeks. I recently got my hands on thos...

That is the first Contra, isn't it? Super C/Contra 2 is my favorite.
Wow, total dyslexic moment. I totally saw that as Super C.

SO yeah, Super C and the first Contra.

Ok, totally Angel of Retribution. I forgot how much I disliked Death Magnetic. It sounds like ST Anger with guitar solos.

JP Angel of Retribution vs. Metallica Death Magnetic

Which do you prefer and why?

Both are comebacks of sorts, or at least a return to a more original sound for each respective band.

Personally I love Angel of Retribution, but before I vote I'm gonna go back and give Death Magnetic another listen (I have heard the album since probably 2010).

Re: Who do you miss the most who died from sex, drugs and RNR

Say what you will about Weiland, that guy was talented and produced some really amazing stuff; be it his solo career, STP, or VR. As others have said, Steve Clark was a major loss. Def Leppard has never been the same. I didn't see anyone mention Layne, that was a big time loss since AIC is still pre...

Re: ACDC news: Vancouver recording sessions, Rudd back behind the kit

I would rather listen to an outtakes album from the god awful Razors Edge than be subjected to an AC/DC album will Faxl on vocals. The gigs were bad enough Fingers crossed the proper boys are back together, and if a new album is as good as Rock Or Bust that'll do me. Best DC album since FOTW Hate t...

I almost voted for Freedom, but I realized it is only because I'm burnt out on Teenage Frankenstein. I loved that song when I was younger. Overall Raise Your Fist and Yell is a much better album, though.

Terminator 2 is my favorite movie of all time, but they have got to stop this. I am semi-excited for this one, because I know Cameron is involved to a certain extent, but he's still not the director or writer. I pretend the series ended with 2. 3 was decent popcorn fun, but I've grown to hate the fa...

Re: Picard is back in new Trek Show

I haven't seen the new show, but I've heard it's awful. This seems like damage control, but it's also a waste of time because Disney is going to own the streaming game once they acquire the rights to FOX. They must be paying Stewart and absolute fortune to return, although I'm sure he'll play an old...

Re: ACDC news: Vancouver recording sessions, Rudd back behind the kit

I don't know why people are bitching. Axl was great with AC/DC, so it's either we get no music, or some potentially good music. Big deal if he keeps the AC/DC name. We're 40+ years into their career; I really doubt this is going to stain their legacy. Just enjoy it if it's good and don't listen to i...

Alright, went Painkiller, Ram it Down, Turbo. Very tough decision, especially between Ram it Down and Turbo. Sure, Ram it Down has that AWFUL Johnny B. Goode cover, but I feel the overall production is better than Turbo. Painkiller is a straight up metal album and has aged better than either of the ...

So the painkiller thread got me to thinking: which of these three Judas Priest albums do people like best? and in what order? This is pretty tough for me, so I won't vote yet. I've been on a Priest Bender lately, so I'll listen to them again and vote afterwards. I hope I didn't miss a possible combi...

Bands that took at least over ten years after their debut to release their best record?

What bands released their best records at least ten years after their debut album?

Edit: Hold on, I was wrong in my original post, I said Screaming for Vengeance, but that didn't come out ten years after. I guess if you consider Defenders of the Faith their best, that would apply.

It used to mean a lot to me when I was younger, but it only applied to bands in their prime. If they gained weight later in life, like Vince for instance, I couldn't care less because there was obviously a time when they were "cool." More important to me is that the band maintains the ability to pla...

The album sounds forced to me. In my mind it was an overreaction to the flak they got for going more commercial on Turbo and Ram It Down.

I dunno, I see it more as a return to form, rather than an overreaction.

Cowboys from Hell was only released a few months before so I doubt Pantera had any effect on Painkiller. That came later when Halford tried to be more hardcore with Fight.
