Anthrax. Used to like them but nowadays any of their 80's records is a real slog to listen all the way through.

Re: Worst albums you've ever heard

Objectively the worst record I've heard must be The Shaggs' Phlosophy of the World. Or "heard", I couldn't bear to listen that all the way through. Everybody in the band seemed to play different songs at any given time. Completely tuneless stuff that's either avantgarde rock at its finest ...

This McClintock guy is great. I always thought there must be some reason for Slayer to exist, and its his mashups.

Not one of my favourites, the Pink Panther remakes were so bad that you ended up rooting for the criminals.

Re: Your thoughts on A Lil Ain't Enough

I've been listening to this a lot lately for some reason. Granted it's not great, half of it is pure filler, but title track is probably my favourite of his solo songs. Shoot It, Hammerhead Shark, Dogtown Shuffle and Sensible Shoes are also good, though the latter was a weird choice to follow up the...

Re: Bands you liked as a kid ….

I loved the first Belladonna-era Anthrax records back in the day, but nowadays it takes a lot of effort to listen any of them through. Queen is another one, I got into them hugely after Mercury's death and the tribute concert, heard enough of them then and so far there's been zero desire to revisit ...

Almost every one of my favorite records has at least a single dud:

Getchoo on Pinkerton
Heaven Can Wait on Bat out of Hell
Rocket on Hysteria
Title track on Heaven Tonight

Best thing about that song is that it inspired the infamous "You're invited but you weigh a ton" quote from Mick Mars after Vince's Jet Ski accident.

Lynyrd Skynyrd. Pretty much every 70's american rock band with flannel shirts, beards and moustaches that predates Van Halen fits the bill.

Agreed, great track. "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants" from their latest effort is one of the best I've heard from them. On the whole I've found them to be pretty average, though.

Re: PRO SHOT - Blaze’s last show with Maiden , Argentina 1998

I've never actually watched an entire Bayley-era Maiden show from start to end even though there's no shortage of those on Youtube, only selected bits here and there and they were enough to convince that Bayley was very out of his depth. But thanks to Bernie, his rundown of this gig was probably muc...

The Nomad and The Mercenary were also VXI leftovers. You can easily imagine Bayley bellowing the latter one out of key.

Re: Iron Maiden - Virtual XI - would it have fared better with Bruce?

The album closer, "Como Estais Amigos" is the best one here. So naturally, it's the only one they never played live. The Angel and the Gambler sounded OKish on the single edit, but the album version is just laughable in all its repetitiousness. Futureal is awful. Stupid five penny riff, w...
