Looking for Buffalo NY recommendations
The wife and I are heading to Buffalo in late October. Kind of an odd bucket list trip having always wanted to eat Buffalo wings in Buffalo. I'm looking for a couple of recommendations: 1. What are the must try wing places? 2. What are the fun areas of town or where should we stay? Thanks in advance.

Re: The Jaime St. James Era of Warrant
I caught this lineup. Was a big Black-n-Blue fan, so it was fun to see Jamie getting some stage time. Band was great and seemed happy just to be making music without all the baggage. Born Again doesn't do much for me, but not many of the 2000s efforts by the hair bands do. Mason is a more dynamic si...

Newfound respect for......Nelson
I got a chance to see Nelson (billed as The Nelsons) for the first time this past weekend opening for Night Ranger at the Mankato, MN Ribfest. Admittedly, I was disappointed to hear they were opening, but walked away really enjoying their show. They sounded great on the rockier stuff and really shin...

Taco John's is a midwest staple and my go to for years.
They used to do a taco burger which was filling.
Their Potato Oles are small tots with seasoned salt. It's unfortunate how often I crave TJs.

As with most of you, this list is ever changing, but at this moment:
"One More Round" - Love/Hate
"Run Outta Town" - TKO
"17 Going on Crazy" - Smashed Gladys
"Show a Little Love" - Lillian Axe
"Just Got Lucky" - Dokken

Re: Lita with Special Guest Dee Snider last night …
Saw this in MN last month. The bill included Firehouse, who did a lot of the heavy lifting. Lita did her usual patched together set and then brought out Dee, who did a total of 4 songs. "Close my eyes...", the 2 TS songs you'd expect and "Highway to Hell". Dee got full co-headlin...

Tall Stories - both the S/T and Skyscraper (Frontiers 2009) are excellent. Augeri is a beast on these records. Tyketto - "Shine" - this is the Augeri fronted version. The very definition of hidden gem. Cry Wolf - "Crunch" - Slick and classy hair metal. David Drew - "Safety L...

Jon would be the preferred option, but he's probably well over 300 lbs and doing just fine with his piece of the TSO machine. (I guess I'm assuming he gets a piece of that.) He doesn't need the hassle. Good for the rest of the guys for giving it a go. If it can't be Jon, then Zach in the only other ...

Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck 7/10
Very interesting, but I went away thinking that Cobain was truly messed up. Not like cute little outcast made good messed up. More like certifiable mental problems and general dickhead messed up.

I'm a big Sports Center guy and I grew tired of his delivery after a while. But there is no denying that he changed the game when it comes to sports broadcasting. Much like Dandy Don Meredith brought announcing to the everyman, Stuart made is accessible to urban youth. Incredible talent gone too soon.

Re: Your picks for the 2015 Super Bowl XLIX in Phoenix. GO.
Topsy turvy the first couple weeks. The Seabirds lose when they looked indestructible week 1. The Niners get embarrassed at the opening of their new field. The Saints still with an o'fer in the win column.
Way too early to make any sort of educated guess, so I'll go:
Patriots vs. the Niners.

Fucking stupid. It's like they saw no need for a story editor. Just let the film meander to it's all too predictable conclusion.

The problem with science fiction is that you must live within the made up space you have created. Unfortunately, this movie zigs and zags and often forgets the rules it lays out earlier in the movie.

Tony Gwynn dead
Tony Gwynn died from cancer today. He was only 54. Gwynn was one of those guys who defined my youthful experience as a baseball fan. I think of Gwynn, George Brett, Mike Schmidt, Kirby Puckett, and Robin Yount as baseball heroes. I'm sorry to see him go. By all accounts he was a class act all the way.

There is a cool 30 minute monster movie hidden inside this attempt at human drama. Build-up took too long for me. Monster movies should be fun. Why is this so hard to figure out?

Ender's Game 7/10
Very dark for a movie targeted at the Hunger Games demographic.
Nebraska 8.5/10
Bruce Dern got all the attention, but Will Forte just kills as his son. You might identify with this movie more if you have ever spent time in an upper Midwest tiny town.

The Thursday games would have happened regardless of where they were broadcast. This just paves the way to the inevitable full slate of Thursday's on network TV.Bludegeon wrote:It's bad news for anyone like myself, although probably in the minority, that HATE Thursday night games.

CBS gets rights to Thursday Night Football, sort of
CBS will televise Thursday Night Football starting next season...sort of. They got the rights to simulcast 8 games. CBS announcers will work those games, but do pregame along side NFL network folks. NFL Network has a slate of other Thursday games that will not be simulcast. I think this is wonderful...
