People here might not like either of them too much, but I think Corgan’s episode with Tom Morello was pretty good as far as his interviews go.

Re: Bands that you suspect used ghostwriters

Desmond Child said Bon Jovi management called and offered to pay him off for "Bad Name". You gotta wonder how many other times that happened and the writer just took the payout. I know that pop stars like Beyoncé have done that. Wouldn’t be surprised if it happened more back in the day. A...

Re: WHAT WAS THE FASTEST ... You've ever rec'd something after ordering it online? Days? Hours?

Usually on Amazon same day deliveries regardless of when I order I can get a delivery window between 5-10pm. Sometimes it comes a little on the earlier side of that range, which I’m fine with. I live in a suburban Midwest area with a lot of Amazon buildings in the general metro area. I’m a little cl...

Probably. From what I recall, their buzz had cooled off a little bit when that self-titled album came out. (The importance of the Unplugged concert is felt more in retrospect than it was at the time.) Their hottest period was around Sap/Jar of Flies. Exactly how I remember it. And I was listening t...

I recall an acoustic song called "Sex, Drugs and Rock n Roll" being on limewire that had the lyrics "now all we have is aids, disco and techo" as an unfinished song idea premiered in front of an overzealous live audience in an unamed venue. Ironic considering rumours abound that...

My hometown. Haven’t lived there in 20 years, but they’ve had quite a few rock/country/pop festivals on the beach in recent years. Growing up, they did NOTHING big time. I think The Beach Boys (Kokomo era or later) on the beach was the biggest concert for 40 years, and they had decent local cover ba...

Re: I don't get why Bat Out Of Hell sold so much?

Was there a resurgence with this album in the early 90s with all the cd club ads and stuff? I was born in 88 but I remember hearing all about it in the early 90s and people listening again He did Part Two, which prompted sales of the original all over. The comeback was even more inexplicable - it w...

Curious, how do settlements of this nature work? Does he have to fork over the full amount in a check? Or make regular payments until its all paid off? How does that get decided? All depends on terms of the settlement. Think of how many settlements who’ve heard about (sometimes becoming public only...

And she ranks higher than Billy Corgan on all the greatest guitarists lists.

She has “only” fans - to the tune of million$ of month. Might have a higher income now than the peak of any musician discussed on this board outside of the extreme superstars.

Re: Billy Corgan pissed off at people: "Most people don't even recognize my contributions as a guitar player"

There are tons of alt rock guitar heroes who write most of the songs, play a few other instruments on record, and are also the singer and frontman. Thurston Moore, Chris Cornell, and I would even say Kurt Cobain were all very good guitarists and songwriters. I’ll bet they aren’t on these lists eith...

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by a few of the interviews and clips I’ve seen of Corgan on YouTube recently, I mean personality-wise. Of course, part of its because of them was with Bill Maher and Corgan was just much more likable in comparison. I think the other one was with Rick Beato.

Plush because it has 2 versions on their greatest hits. The unplugged closes album.

Edited to add: I just looked it up and it was the #1 most played mainstream rock song in 1993 and the #4 most played rock song of the 2010s decade.

Interstate was big but I don’t think comes close to that.

Can't really imagine it being anything else. If this 73 year-old has male groupies, men are definitely doing something wrong. Outside maybe ...

EMPD had 4 Gold Albums in a row when it meant something, without “going pop.” Those albums are all considered classics in the genre. Then they had a comeback after a breakup that was a huge deal in hip-hop. And they went Gold again 5 years later in a new scene. “Da Joint” was a rap hit. “You Gots to...

In addition to the above criticisms, I must assume Pete is purposely refusing to use “their” correctly. Both Beady Eye and the other project got a pretty good amount of hype, at least initially, in the US. Re: Streaming ruined the Billboard singles charts. It's all pointless now.

In the mid-'90s to early '00s (for the most part), the singles charts NEVER reflected the reality of the most popular current songs as far as what was most played on the radio and TV and listened to by the masses. Because there is always some peculiar aspect(s) to the chart methodology. Remember whe...
