Re: CowboyMouth

“Jenny Says” was all over rock radio in the mid-90s. Love how this place is always discovering new bands.

Re: What is the big deal about My Hero??

I always thought Everlong was THE song of that album and the band’s “signature song.” I think My Hero was alright as 3rd singles go, no clue why it would have more replay than the others.

Re: Slash Is Headlining Sheds This Summer...How?

I don’t even really listen to Blues but the first 2 names and at least 4 or 5 (Robert Randolph, who had a pretty big mainstream push at one point, for example) really pop out to me as “names” so I’m sure they draw for that genre.

Favre is a great QB, not put here to do good or right. He wanted stuff for his daughter. In and of itself, something most of us would do for our kids. I’m definitely not looking to steal taxpayer money to benefit my rich daughter or have the government seize houses from widows so I can build a limo...

Then a few hours later. Killer Mike won a few awards and then was arrested. Damn, I didn't know he had an album out, I'm a fan of his Run the Jewels albums...I need to check this shit out. "Michael" is produced by No ID (has at least one guest appearance by El-P and some other guest...

Re: What's your goto energy drink?

It's the easiest time in the history of humanity to exist and everyone needs energy drinks to get through their sedentary lives. Ridiculous. That said, when I was on graveyard shift, I did pop the occasional 150mg caffeine pill that my coworker brought in. I had one of those 5 Hour Energy shot thin...

Re: What's your goto energy drink?

I have the small coffee maker and make one "pot" early in my day. About halfway through I have a preworkout drink mix. I cut way back on caffeine. Used to do Bang/Reign/Hyde all the time. 300-420mg a pop. Too much. Caffeine is effective but too much is dehydrating and causes bad sides, sam...

Re: Stephen Pearcy has a hot girlfriend!

if you have any status at all as a man, it's pretty much expected to have a "hot" girlfriend. And if you understand how that works you would never look at another man and think "wow, he outkicked his coverage." For one thing, there's a lot more to it than looks, and as I said tha...

They were pretty big in alt rock about a decade ago. Had some chick drag me to a couple of their concerts. I like a few of their songs, but I haven’t heard much from them lately.

Re: Hip-Hop in the 80s and 90s

A lot of the golden age rappers were real "rock stars." I always find it funny when supposed rock fans criticize hip-hop for not being conformist enough. Or, if you listen to somewhat obscure rock or other genre music but judge all hip-hop by the most formulaic generic pop mass appeal vari...

It's supposed to take place in the late seventies right? I just remember watching and thinking "um, excuse me... Burning for You did not come out until 1981, on the album written mostly with the animated feature Heavy Metal in mind, the classic Fire of Unknown Origin" The Wikipedia entry ...

Re: Streaming ruined the Billboard singles charts. It's all pointless now.

In the mid-'90s to early '00s (for the most part), the singles charts NEVER reflected the reality of the most popular current songs as far as what was most played on the radio and TV and listened to by the masses. Because there is always some peculiar aspect(s) to the chart methodology. Remember whe...
