Re: What is your "I'm calling it now" prediction?

The entertainment industry is going to get fucked by AI. Musicians are going to almost instantly lose a shitload of revenue streams like session work or composing for film. Visual artists can pretty much just fuck off and go buy tents in prep for their impending homelessness. ...and the film industr...

Meh. The Ai is here. Just tell it to whip up some new GnR for you then pop over to make an album cover. It'll be better than anything GNR is capable of.

Re: Would you still like Priest if Half wasn't a LGBT?

Well, maybe it's a cultural thing, but over here in the 70s/80s the leather-clad gay guy in the Brando cap and chaps (with optional extra handlebar moustache) was a well-established comedy trope. Hell, you all got the Police Academy gag with the Blue Oyster Bar, right? And none of the actual bikers...

He's a good seventies style player. Should be in the conversation with Joe Perry, Randy Bachman etc. Randy Bachman can play rings around either one of those fumble-fingered hacks Blue Collar https://youtu.be/lvV0d0SddJ8?si=VSTJynvcZg2CQH4c Lookin' Out For Number One https://youtu.be/N4_0Pt3HAR8?si=...

Re: THE DOORS

The musicians were talented, but their pseudo-intellectual "poet" front man was woefully average. I mean, people go saying this hipster nonsense all of the time...but back it up. If Morrison was average, then it follows that he must have a huge number of peers doing his thing at his skill...

Not when I was a kid, no...but I used to do some colorization work for the Tom of Finland Foundation in the nineties, so I am VERY familiar with the stuff.

He might have been the Metal God™ on stage, but he seemed like the girly one in the relationship. The songs on Rob Halford's Autobiographical rock opera masterp...
